The Assembly on Literature for Adolescents

ALAN actually stands for The Assembly on Literature for Adolescents of the National Council of Teachers of English. The Assembly on Literature for Adolescents is comprised of authors, teachers, librarians, publishers, students and anyone else interested in young adult literature. The sponsor workshops featuring authors and teachers and recognize outstanding individuals in the field each year with the presentation of the ALAN Award. They also publish the ALAN Review, a journal and run a foundation to fund the creation and promotion of young adult literature.

The Children's Book Guild
