"The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) is a professional membership organization dedicated to the advancement of sleep medicine and related research. The Academy's mission is to assure quality care for patients with sleep disorders, promote the advancement of sleep research and provide public and professional education. This mission is achieved by positioning sleep as a medical specialty, preserving and enhancing the specialty's ability to provide quality care for patients with sleep disorders, fostering the development of pre-clinical and clinical scientific knowledge and increasing public awareness." Site includes, for members, information on board certification, a fellowship program in sleep medicine, continuing medical information, and speakers on sleep disorders. Information on sleep disorders for the public is also available.
