- This Indiana public library kids' website features hard-to-find booklists about a broad range of topics including potty training, cumulative tales, non-traditional gender roles, wordless books, books for accelerated readers, and books on different cultural holidays. Here also are more standard booklists, such as Caldecott winners, Newberry winners, Harry Potter read-alikes, and Lemony Snicket read-alikes.

Some of the categories included in this section include books on adoption, HIV/AIDS, child abuse, disabilities, homelessness, and parents in prison.

- The creators of kidsreads.com think being a bookworm is a good thing to be and have provided a number of booklists for avid readers to choose from. This site includes lists of classic children’s books and contemporary favorites. The lists are arranged by age and include brief descriptions of the books. The site is constantly updated with new titles for you to choose from.

- This site has an extremely comprehensive collection of booklists, divided by each grade level, from preschoolers through high school age readers, and by subject, including books about peace and justice, sports, grief and loss, writers and writing, wordless books, books about labor, toy stories, books that have won awards, and lots of other subjects. If you prefer graphic novels, there is a list of recommended titles here.

- This is a good resource for nonfiction titles covering such topics and genres as divorce, poetry and youth autobiographies. They also have a section for scary stories and books about different authors.

- This comprehensive list of lists is a great resource for books about multicultural topics. You can find books about different countries and the people that live in them. You can also find links to books to help you with homework like the section on World War II.

- National Education Association Read Across America Book Lists

- The National Education Association features the Kid’s Top 100 Books lists. You can also find books recommended by teachers and celebrities. This site also includes lists of books about African Americans, Asian Americans, a Spanish/English bilingual booklist and "50 Multicultural Titles Every Child Should Read".
