Sites in this section are devoted to poetry published online. You'll find a mix of well-known poets, both historical and modern, and "unknown" writers getting published for the first time in a variety of formats and publication types.

The aim of the site is to compile a group of resources gathering digital and contemporary and innovative poetics, new media writing, and literary programming. - Robert Pinsky, a poet and one of the creators of this site says, "If a poem is written well, it was written with the poet's voice and for a voice." "The purpose of this site is to share the Favorite Poem Project with the widest possible audience." The Favorite Poem Project shows audio and video of people reading their poems. Students of all ages are invited to participate in the project by sharing their poetry.

- Kwani? is a free online literary journal founded by Kenyan writers and supported by subscribers to the print edition of the magazine. Kwani?'s goal is to reinvest in the creativity of the people of Kenya and to encourage new writing by modern voices.

- The New York Public Library has created a page that allows teens to submit their poetry and have it published for a month on the web. Visit this site for something to read and, while you're here, explore the NYPL's suggestions for published authors to check out.

- This zine of poetry, prose, plays, and articles was started in 1997 by a teen girl who wanted to see what other teens were writing. Still going strong, Xenith has all of its issues archived on the site, and is constantly adding new content. See what teens and college students are writing, submit your own work, hang out on the message boards to meet writers from all over the world, and follow links to other cool writing sites. "No topic or style of writing is off-limits," writes the editor. "We publish, poetry, fiction, nonfiction, plays, essays, rants, experimental writing, and everything in between."
