I do agree with Joe Turnbull’s essay, and I also understand why Shepard Fairey keep continuing his artwork even though it might have raise so many ethical questions. Even though, the artists reserve the right to be able to express themselves within his/her artworks, the artwork should be within the range of appropriation. Fairey’s stickers should’ve been more in the private or not as common as door to door public for those people who actually support the theme of his work. Fairey also an artist that do not need to make more name but people still want more, according to Turnbull’s essay, Fairey was “reported net worth of $15 million” (Turnbull pg9/15).

In this article, I sensed some rhetorical strategies used. For example, Carr explains that he wasn 't the only one experiencing the problem of not being able to concentrate on his readings. His acquaintances, impressive bloggers, and friends also claims to have the literary types—struggles for fighting to stay focused on long pieces of writings. However, just proving this point won’t solve anything, so Carr points out rhetorical techniques like logos.

The legacy that Truman and his administration left for Eisenhower and Dulles was the transformation of the U.S. into a country that could lead the free world. He set the foundations needed for the U.S. to transition from isolationism, disarmament, and neutrality into a nation which would resist the spread of communism through collective security and arms-buildup. Carson emphasizes the impact humans have on the environment by integrating a disdainful tone and rhetorical questions. In the beginning of the Silent Spring, Carson’s disdain towards the careless farmers’ use of parathion is evident by her constant use of strong language such as “eradicating”, “habit of killing”, and “distasteful”. By using blunt diction, Carson emphasizes that the use of a dangerous poison, like parathion, are worsening the condition of the environment, and even portrays the farmers who use the poison as murders when she states that they are on a “mission of death”. In addition, Carson further highlights the unethical actions of the farmers by providing an example of how the “growing trend” of killing the “inconvenien[t]” has not only affected the animals living in the environment, but the humans as well.
