Abortion is a huge argument in the world today. “In 1973 the U.S. Supreme Court held in Roe V.Wade that the right of privacy protects women’s decisions to end unwanted pregnancy before the fetus develops.” By 2013, 70 restrictions to curb the practice of abortion from 22 states. (Funk & Wagnalls pg.1). In 2014, five health votes were examined by the House of Representatives regarding the matter of abortion. Everyone has a side to abortion from politics to democrats, people in religions to people with no religions, the people having the baby to someone who never had a baby before; everyone sees a different side to it. My believe on abortion is it should be Illegal because it kills innocent lives. Abortion is killing over thousand of innocent …show more content…
A health care center proved women and teens get more mental health problems. By 2001, studies were published and research showed women have more health care problems. 41,089 women matched 39,220 women were matched without abortion. Abortion causes more than a 165% higher rate of hospitalizations for psychiatric problems, because the side affects of women who went through with abortion. Abortion is against many religions and is frowned upon by many people and takes innocent children’s life away. A lady told a story about a conversation her and her mother had because she was thinking about going through with an abortion. This is what the mother said; “Termination in my religion is a sin and will punish you after death unless you also die.” (Alison p.485)This shows how religious people see abortion and the way you should be treated if you go through with abortion. It says that if you take someone’s life away you should be punished for it and abortion is not any different from shooting someone at point-blank. Abortion takes a person’s life away and if it is okay to you then you should be punished. Some people believe it is okay if a woman has an abortion and that what a woman does to her body is not any else 's business, but by having an abortion the woman would not only be harming her own body but also taking an innocent life away. Bernie Sanders said that we are not going to go back to the
Your body, your choice. An abortion is an incredibly personal decision that a woman may need to make for herself. It is not someone anyone else should get to determine. Not giving her that option takes away her right to choose what's best for her and her body. With certain states banning abortion, it is practically controlling and choosing what a woman should do with her body.
The Keynote Address: Untying the Moral Knot of Abortion, was given by Caitlin E. Borgmann at the Washington and Lee School of law on November 8, 2014. Borgmann’s main goal of her address was to bring back to attention that abortion should be seen as a woman’s own right in making decisions regarding her own body. She talks about how people have become so focused on the morality of the fetus that they have lost sight of the real reason that abortion should be legal. Borgmann feels that it is the woman’s right to have a choice and freedom over their body and the freedom to choose whether or not to have an abortion. The speaker asks why people question the age and status of the fetus, but do not concern themselves to question the rights of the woman that carries the fetus.
However, as we have discovered there are a lot of factors to the choice for different reasons of an abortion. We’ve learned that if a woman is a victim she could have to deal with her rapist the rest of her life, and that is not right to torment her like that. Finally, why does politics have to deal with what we do to our body? Politics should be helping us do what is best for us, but not controlling us. The U.S. is a free country, so do not try and control the people of this country.
Even though christians are pro-life, because christians feel that they are committing a sin once the child is terminated. Every life matters and if you go against the word of God you are going against God himself. No matter how a female
With the overturning of Roe V. Wade in 2022, the talk about abortion has been on a rise - with various beliefs. Although the discussion of abortion has been a sensitive topic for years, the amount of forced pregnancies in recent years have been alarming. With being unable to provide services to women it not only puts the mother in risk of her own health but her life as well. The option to have an abortion should be legal in all states to encourage the protection of women's mental health, privacy, and freedom. Abortion should be legal to protect women from suffering from mental health caused by pregnancy.
In regards to the well known and controversial case, Roe v. Wade, I have taken up a definite opinion on the matter. Before my research ever began, I have held this stance and even now, I feel more confident in expressing it after the things I have learned. I am on the side of Pro-Life. Abortion, to me, is a cruel way to make up for others mistakes by killing the life of an innocent baby.
If so, it leads to what's call P.A.S.S Post Abortion Stress Syndrome. According to www.afterabortion.com why abortion in America has become a social problem “P.A.S.S. Is a type of Post traumatic stress disorder which develops when a woman is unable to work through her emotional responses resulting from the trauma of an abortion. Abortion has turned into something that women are being coerced into from boyfriends/husbands unwilling to be fathers, out of fear of the financial pressure, out of panic from losing their jobs, out of panic from having to quit school, or become homeless, or out of fear of their parents kicking them out into the street.an abortion. P.A.S.S. can have many serious side effects, ranging from depression to eating disorders, to as severe as suicide. There are women who abort and do so completely of their own free will.
Abortion is full of excuses, going against God’s will, and murder. America should reconsider the laws and regulations of the countries soon to be mothers. Because abortion is a deliberate termination of a human life, women should not legally have the option to choose one. Making excuses for reasons a mother can kill her baby is wrong. For example, a mother having a baby she doesn’t want is no excuse to end a life.
Some women disagree with the idea, while others agree. Some religions believe it is a sin to have an abortion. Abortion
Pro-Choice vs. Pro-Life Abortion. The word alone has the power to make a room go still. The popular debate topic has a reputation of provoking aggression no matter where it is mentioned due to its strong relation to people’s rights and ethics, but does it really need further deliberation? Abortions should be kept legal across the United States for a multitude of reasons: they allow people to stay in school and work, largely lessen likelihood of would-be-parents falling into economic depressions, prevent overload of responsibilities to the unprepared, protect women’s rights to privacy, help reduce the number of parentless children, conserve resources, give options, decrease maternal injuries, lower crime rates, and maintain the amount of federal spending on welfare.
Abolish Abortion Did you know that just in the United States over 3,000 people have abortions every day? An abortion is when a woman is injected with a fatal substance to kill their unborn baby. It is legal in all 50 states except one type of abortion procedure; Partial-birth-abortion. Women have abortions for many reasons, some being that they are not ready for that kind of commitment or they have been raped and got pregnant. An abortion should never be an option in any case because it’s considered as murder, it causes pain to the person and baby during and after the procedure, and there are other choices to choose from including adoption.
Abortion is a very sensitive issue. Many people are constantly debating whether or not abortion should be allowed or not. Some people think abortion is very bad and that it should not be allowed at all. They think abortion is like committing murder as it is killing the human fetus. Others feel that the parents should have the right to choose and it is not murder until the baby is born.
One of the most controversial topics in politics today is whether abortion should be legal. This is a highly-debated topic because there are so many factors that come into play when it comes to abortion. Some politicians play the card that a woman has the right to choose what is right for her body, if she can care for the infant at that particular time in her life because the pregnancy was not planned. Another factor that comes into play for supporting abortion is whether the child will be born with a handicap. Although abortion has been accepted by some states, we have to consider what the ethical issues that surround abortion are and what the bible has to say about the
I think the Government has no right to control what people decided to do;they force people to keep the child no matter what the circumstances are. Why is it illegal in most states? I believe it's illegal because people protest that fetus can feel pain just like the rest of us because it has a heartbeat and it has a nerve system. Some states just believe that religious beliefs
Abortion is much more than a question of how religious you truly are, but rather how much you value morality and life. From a moral standpoint, there is no explanation to why abortion should be legal and supported. Morality is mostly objective and there is a baseline for cultures all around the world, rape is bad, theft is bad, murder is bad, except when it’s an embryo or baby. But to even talk about that we need to know why abortion is horrible. Abortions normally happen during the first trimester which is conception to 13 weeks old.
