The novel Life of Pi by Yann Martel discusses how Pi struggles with adversity, not accepting his life until learning the hard way while also trying to come to terms with himself during his ocean journey; along with being reasonable about the unusual tasks ahead. Pi has to go through misfortunes causing him a great deal of stress during this long awaited journey.

When Pi regrets the choices he made, that went against a particular desire from his religious beliefs Pi honored the religions like they were all equal- “ the way they see god, are hat-wearing Muslims.” He expressed Yann Martel's aim that following the path to shaping a person’s beliefs and values, is the single most important action to shaping a human being in the future along with treating everyone equally- not differently. Later on in life, Pi concluded that he can honor, respect as well as practice different religions at the same time without letting them interfere with his personal family life. Pi had realized that this way of life now, would be all he has for the coming months ahead. Pi spoke briefly - “ Take life the way it [advances toward] you.” He directed Yann Martel's focus to take a minute - to think about the importance as well as meaning to one’s self during what seems to be a rocky patch in a journey; Pi can share his triumphs, sharing how important it is to learn the meaning about crossing one’s mind, as well as respect for, self with family. The result of this story is a story that will make you believe in God
