Al Capone was known as the nation’s most famous mobster. Al Capone murdered numerous people in his career. Capone’s increase in criminal activity began in Chicago and his actions eventually spread out through the United States. Al Capone was born on January 17th, 1889 in Brooklyn, New York City. In the 1920’s, Al Capone rose to power after his mentor, Jonny Torrio, retired and handed over his reign of his ‘criminal empire’ to Capone. During this time, Al Capone gained fame while prohibition was enforced in the United States.
