“Don't fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here.” This quote was written by Captain John Parker in 1775 about the American Revolution. The American Revolution had a lot of causes leading up to writing the Declaration of Independence. One of battles was the Battle of Lexington and Concord. This battle was because the Colonists brought gunpowder but then the British sent the military to take it. The British sent troops to block off Boston and the colonists sent there men. The other battle was the Bunker Hill Battle. Both battles eventually caused the Revolutionary War and taught the British that high land is
They delayed the redcoats while the troops in Lexington could move the weapons the redcoats were going after. The battle of Concord was also the first “battle” in the war. The Shot Heard Round the World happened at Concord which was the shot that truly launched the Revolutionary War. A shot from one of the sides was fired against orders which started the battle and the

Revolutionary War Response It all began with “the shot heard round the world,” also known as the shot that was fired at Lexington and Concord in Massachusetts on April 19th, 1775. This signaled the start of the American Revolution. However, another factor that led up to the battles were the lack of civil liberties and the efforts to regain them by the colonist. A combination of different conflicts that arose between Great Britain and the thirteen colonies resulted in battles fought for independence, and equal rights amongst all of the people.
The British Army set out from Boston to capture rebel leaders Samuel Adams and John Hancock in Lexington as well as to destroy the Americans store of weapons and ammunition in Concord. The colonists were warned however, by riders including Paul Revere, that the British Army was approaching. Sam Adams and John Hancock were able to escape and the local militia was able to hide much of their ammunition and weapons. The patriots were so encouraged by this victory that Gen. George Washington sent Daniel Morgan, the war hero who won the Battle of Saratoga, to organize the Southern colonists attack and defense at the Battle of Cowpens, which was another victory for the patriots. So, the patriots won the battle because Ferguson was arrogant and decided to send a letter that enraged the people he sent it to, and paid for it. The American Revolution was one of the most important wars that was fought in the history of the United States. The Patriots and the British had two different views on how things should be run in America. Many people have different opinions on why, where and how the war was started. There were a few key battles that helped to influence the outcome of the war. The outcome of the American Revolutionary War influenced the United States way of Freedom and the way the American people live today.
The American Revolution was a major turning point in American society due to the political, social and economic reforms instigated after they gained their independence. After breaking away from their mother country, Britain, the Americans formed their ideal society in which the people held more power than the government. During this time women and slaves experienced more freedom within society. Women were allowed to serve in war and many slaves were set free. Because the United States was a new nation who just gained independence, they were still struggling to pay back the war debt thus there were less economic reforms than social and political.
"Don’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here. " These are the words that Captain John Parker, an American colonial farmer, stated just before the Battles of Lexington and Concord broke out. Due to the long building feud between the colonists and the British, it was undeniable that the war would have erupted. The disagreements that led to the revolution had many causes, all of which tied in with the fact that the colonists felt abused by England. Even though the colonies began with the intention of aiding England, they had begun to feel independent.
The colonists wanted representation when it came down to being taxed, but the British government would not allow it. The government wanted full control over the people, so they made sets of acts and laws that were placed on taxation. For example, the Stamp Acts of 1765. These acts taxed all papers, pamphlets, newspapers, and cards. The Townshend Acts of 1767 were also a large part of taxation.
The stamp act taxed even the littlest of things such as newspapers, documents, licenses, molasses and even playing cards. It angered the colonists, so they responded with violence.
The Battle of Lexington and Concord was a bad battle and the first battle of the Revolutionary War, This is also the reason it is called the shot heard around the world. It was called this because the first shot that was fired started the war and it also was a symbolic moment for both sides. The battle started and was a very bloody fight in which many men died. This showed both sides that they were up against an almost equal force and it would be extremely hard to beat the enemy in this war. In the end of this battle 8 miniet men lay dead on the ground and about 50 British soldiers died at the same time.
During the years leading up to the Revolution, the British monarchy applied a variety of tactics to create an obedient America. As time went on and both the population and territory grew, British authority began to slip and in order to create obedience and retain control, Parliament imposed unjust legislation that often resulted in monetary punishment in the form of high taxes. Unfortunately, the tactics used created more animosity and tension than they did harmony. After a long series of various tax acts, the British administration pushed colonists to the point they had to make a choice between living under the oppression of Britain, or standing up and fighting for freedom.
