From my perspective as a human resources analyst, I firmly believe that the most important core values to our role are integrity, open communication, and leading by example. I believe that as an analyst, integrity must be at the foundation of all that we do within our profession. Additionally, I believe that as human resources analysts we must lead the charge in establishing the standard of what open communication should look like. In my opinion, setting the standards of open communication are fueled by integrity, and solidified by leading by example. These three core values are of the utmost importance and in my opinion very dependent on each other. I will now elaborate on why I firmly believe that the most important core values to our role as human resource analysts are integrity, open communication, and leading by example. No team or organization can truly be successful if there is poor communication. If one were to do the research it would be found that more often than not when one hears about the downfall of an organization or business that one of the root causes is almost always a breakdown in communication or even worse, secretive communication lacking integrity as its foundation. Integrity fuels open communication and creates leaders. When the team believes that there is an honest, open dialogue with integrity at its foundation it is much easier for there to be clear channels of successful communication at all levels. In the same sense that the value is what your friends, family, co-workers, social groups know are important to you and that you hold firm. As an applicant and future enrolled student of Howard University I too hold many of the university 's core values listed above. Though many of the described values that the university instills into their students are great core values to promote I consider the action of constantly being a leader in any setting of my life the biggest factor when focusing on my growth not only as an adult but as a person. I 'd like to continue by mentioning the fact that I was born a leader. Being the first born and fortunately oldest sister of a very vivacious and boisterous young lady has attributed to the process I follow when making decisions that not only affect me but her as well. As an older sister your focus is no longer on just yourself.
The company’s values are: teamwork, learning, having fun, ethics and integrity, empowerment and accountability, and agility. (Grainger, About Us, 2015) Teamwork refers to trusting others and valuing their teammates and/or customers opinions. The learning value component means to acquire information from both the successes and failures. The company defines the value of having fun by creating a healthy work-life balance and celebrating when appropriate. Ethics and integrity is self-explanatory, being fair and consistent in every encounter.
However, it appears that this value misaligns because the employees feel that the company discourages remote work which would allow the workers to exercise some independence over how they manage their time and location. 4. Organisational values can be described as a “belief that a specific mode of conduct is preferable to an opposite or contrary mode of conduct” (Rokeach, 1973). Some organisations describe them as their ‘guiding beacons’ whilst others describe them as part of their philosophy. As Diageo explains ‘Our values are not just words on a page – they are in our DNA. They underpin everything we do and are reflected in the day-to-day behaviour of the company.’ –
These policies and procedures must follow laws, rules, and regulations that include, but are not limited to equal opportunity employment, recruiting, hiring, firing, discrimination, sexual harassment, salaries, wages, safety, and discipline. When these areas are addressed through policies and procedures, not only will the organization run smoothly, but will also improve communication, improve production, and curb legal issues through following laws of employment (HRlineup, 2022). No longer seen as the people in the back office, human resource professionals bridge the gap between employee and employer. When creating a strategy, Target Corporation must consult human resource professionals that understand the business, how the business operates, and situations that drive the organization (Losey, Meisinger, & Ulrich, 2005). Regardless of the size of an organization, the standardization established in policies and procedures ensure that that the organization is going in the right direction.
If employees are not familiar with the company’s goals and what the company is expect from them they won’t be able to perform good. Successful organizational culture requires a team work. Johnson should establish the espoused values of the company. These are the stated values and norms that are preferred by the company (Kreitner, 2013, p.63). Johnson should set the basic assumption which values employees (Kreitner, 2013, p.65).

A) Values and ideology: Describe the values of social work and ideology that you think are most important to your future practice and why you have selected them? The values and ideologies that are most important to my future practice include respect for the inherent dignity and worth of persons, service to humanity and competence in professional practice. First, my value of providing respect for the inherent dignity and worth of persons is important to me and my future practice because it allows me to see the uniqueness in all my clients and subsequent cases. Moreover, it further guides me to allow my clients to be self-determined individuals.
Values are principles that people hold important to them in life. As I gotten older my values have changed based on my experience, knowledge, and goals. Since I am in college and the field of social work forced me to open my eyes to different things and ideas I would 've never thought of. Five values that are important to me while I am on this journey of becoming a social worker is my education, positive energy, not judging people based on their past, a reflect and meditate on my life, and be a generous to other.
But this is certainly a reasonable list that probably covers most of the key elements. How can we apply these qualities in practical analytical situations? As we noted at several points, there are certain inherent tensions involved in trying to put these values into practice; each of them carried to an extreme often contradicts others. Fairness and empathy are characteristics that we demonstrate in the dialogue. It does little good to proclaim ourselves fair and empathic if we, in fact, are arbitrary and rejecting of other points of view of the top.
