From its countless of libraries to study rigorous classes to the joyous atmosphere at Camp Randall Stadium where thousands of Badgers cheer on the football team to its hundreds of clubs and majors show that the opportunities and ways to achieve success are countless, though the “Wisconsin Idea”, here at UW—Madison. I always felt compelled to adventure because of my curiosity and at University of Wisconsin—Madison, I am able to explore and satisfy my desire to scour the campus for new adventures through the countless of opportunities that this school has to offer.
One of the most compelling reasons to attend this university is for study abroad opportunities. The opportunity to study infectious diseases in Uganda or learning about HIV/AIDS in Tanzania or being part of a biological research program in London all present an opportunity to learn about biology and feed my curiosity—why people get AIDS, what are specific infectious diseases? Also, having the opportunity to

Knowing that UW—Madison has the opportunity to give back to the community through a course that is supplementary to my major is very important to me because it would give me an opportunity to both better the community and myself by learning things that cannot be fully understood in a classroom. I am aware that currently there is a service learning course in the nursing department which includes learning about dementia and helping those with the disease. I find this interesting because it allows for a different experience than relying on only books and lectures. Through my various internships in high school, I was able to learn information that I would not have learned in my school and I feel like this course is very similar because it allows me to expand my horizons and learn about biology in a format outside of the classroom. It will allow me to experience new people, ideas, and information so I can apply them to my daily life and
As I strive to achieve great academic success and leadership at Montana State University, I hope that my previous experiences will catalyze this process. Using my interests in academics, participation in extracurricular activities, and my own strengths, I hope to become a strong leader. I know I can achieve being both a scholar and an example for other students by utilizing my previous experiences. When I start my journey at Montana State, I expect to find students with common academic interests as myself. My goal is to connect with these students, who appreciate education in a similar way I do, in order to help each other understand topics or lessons that we will learn.
Welcome to the Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship at Montana State University! It has been an exceptionally significant year for our College. Maybe a standout amongst the most noteworthy days in the life of our school was set apart by the amazing opening of Jabs Hall on May seventh, 2015. As the new home for our school, Jabs Hall epitomizes a large portion of the qualities that give our establishment to what's to come. It is obviously a standout amongst the most open, welcoming, and joint effort amicable structures on grounds.
Before majoring in Health Sciences, I was previously a Nursing Major up until the third quarter. The nursing professors, particularly my third quarter clinical lab instructor, have not only imparted essential knowledge but have also inspired me to pursue my passion for healthcare despite finding my calling in a different Healthcare profession throughout my academic journey over time. These exceptional individuals have consistently encouraged me to think critically, ask questions, and explore new ideas. By fostering an environment that values intellectual curiosity, they have nurtured my creativity and instilled in me a genuine love for learning. Furthermore, their unwavering support has empowered me to pursue my passions and set ambitious goals, ultimately shaping my professional
I’m currently a student at San Joaquin Valley College, working towards becoming a certified medical assistant in which I have proficiency in typing skills and accomplished CPR and HIPAA certification. My passion is the medical field where I can assist the needs and services of others while being able to connect and create a comfortable environment for patients. On an interpersonal level, I excel as a conversationalist to personalize each interaction I encounter. With previous volunteer work for organizations, I’ve come to realize I strive in wanting to make a positive difference in people’s lives and hope to one day be able to do it on a daily basis. Making a difference in people’s lives at times can take the littlest effort and in doing so

My most significant endeavor since attending community college would be helping my community to receive an Adult Daycare. Thought this endeavorer I have applied my knowledge that I have learned about the disease to educate others in my community who may not have to know the impact of it. I have also used and sought the aid of my relationship that I have built by being at my community college. This Adult Daycare service or Coltrane LIFE center is something that I am passionate about having in my hometown. My grandpa has Alzheimer's and I have seen the stress that tolls on the family and caregiver.

When someone asks me what I want to do in life, one main goal always comes to my mind. That goal is to have a positive influence, whether it’s big or small, on the world around me. This may sound vague or cliche, but it’s the truth. This is why I am pursuing a degree in speech pathology and also why I want to participate in an alternative break trip. I want to take advantage of this amazing opportunity that the University of Delaware offers, to make a difference in someone’s life.
I stepped onto this campus with aspirations of being a Nurse one day, with dreams of nurturing those in need of my assistance whenever needed, in clinics and hospitals. Nevertheless, one semester later, I see myself studying abroad one day, representing our school in more than just medical settings, and hoping one day I can give back to this school, if it 's in scholarships, research, or knowledge, what they invested in a small Aggie
Through the process of gaining confidence, students feel better about being able to communicate ideas across different cultures, which is similar to what Stebleton wanted to accomplish. However, Williams added the second stage, humility, which Stebleton and his co-workers did not address. Williams wants students to accept that there are differences and it is okay to have one’s opinions and beliefs challenged if positive results can come from it. Humility adds a dimension to the development which allows the self to gain a deeper awareness of global issues. The study abroad program at OSU, in Williams opinion, is a perfect combination of failing and growing from it, which is a part of the global
Meeting other prospective Nursing students within the Honors College would keep me aligned with my end objection, while also implementing some friendly competition. Furthermore, engaging in conversation with current Nursing students could give me insight into the program’s offerings as well as the difficulty of the curriculum. Having completed my CNA/GNA and CCMA certification by the end of senior year, I will already have a basis of knowledge for the skills required to work in a healthcare facility. During clinical hours, I was able to work alongside elderly residents, instilling a sense of compassion for their care routine and empathy for their circumstances. Originally upon entering the Nursing Home, I was slightly skeptical of my decision to pursue this particular career path.
A large motivation I have for myself is enrolling in coursework that not only benefits my personal growth, but coursework that will also benefit my community--more specifically, the community I have had the pleasure of serving, as a worker of the Human Services Department. Specific coursework that has led me to uncover the motivation and become become more passionate in strengthening my community have been: Emotional Intelligence, Compassion Fatigue, Team Dynamics, Cross-Cultural Awareness, Learning Disability Sensitivity, Understanding and Handling Change, Performance Management, Teamwork Skills for Supervisors, Organization and Prioritization Tactics, Critical Thinking, Professional Conduct and Etiquette, Professional Writing and Providing
I am always open to trying new things and gaining new experiences because they have helped me discover my own interests. Over the summer, I had the wonderful opportunity of attending Minnesota Business Venture for a second time (MBV). Minnesota Business Venture is a week-long camp, where high school students from all over the state come and form small companies to compete in a friendly competition. Minnesota Business Venture gives students the opportunity to start at the grassroots of business management and move through the process of creating a revolutionary product that could potentially change the world. The first time I came to MBV, I came as a student without any prior knowledge about business.
In the technologically advanced era of today, the world has become smaller. People now have the ability to connect with someone halfway across the world with the simple keystroke. For this reason, I have decided that it is imperative to not only better myself as a member of a more culturally aware society, but also as a student. As it turns out, the best way to achieve both of these goals at once comes in the form of studying abroad. Having the chance to study abroad while in college is invaluable in today’s society because as the world continues to become more connected it pays to have that experience under your belt.
As a sophomore at the University of Massachusetts Amherst majoring in Public Health, I have realized that there is an abundance of information I have yet to discover within the field. This motivates me to expand my knowledge on how this profession impacts people everywhere from the global community to the local one. If chosen, this internship would give me an invaluable work experience and the opportunity to collaborate alongside those who share a communal goal in improving the overall quality of life for people and their communities. My undergraduate career has provided me with valued tools that aid me in better understanding our world, particularly in relation to health and wellness. After I receive my bachelor’s in Public Health,
