Junior year was a bit challenging for me. It was not challenging because of the work, but I joined a career program. I had to keep up with both of my schools. For me to be successful with so many things going on, I had to stay organized and think ahead. My success was that I kept all my grades above a C+.
I am writing this letter on behalf of Quentin Goodman, an incoming high school senior who is looking to volunteer at NYU Langone Medical Center, Center for Musculoskeletal Care (CMC), Physical Therapy Department located on 333 East 38th Street, New York, NY 10016. NYU CMC Physical Therapy Supervisor, Dr. James Koo is a professional and personal friend of mine and he gave Quentin your contact information and a tour of the clinic. The reason Quentin wants to become a physical therapist is because his sister, Camille, has had several surgeries when she was younger. He was able to have a first-hand look at how much a physical therapist could impact someone’s life. Camille had to undergo yet another surgery in the summer of 2016, and Quentin was again able to see how different her life would have been without the help of physical therapy.
So life had to drastically transition from me being a lax sophomore that depended on my parents to plan everything for me and keep me in check for school work to living on my own and not having that sturdy support. At this school when I was learning to become an independent individual I had many opportunities to work on my time management and scheduling, and I had to learn how to get over my emotions on my own as a teenager with no parent or sibling to express these feeling to. Also through this whole school experience I had to have relationships with my teachers independently be able to figure out compromises and create bonds with them, without the help of parents and keeping a handle on my
I may have been starting to doubt myself a little less since discovering that I was good at academics but I was not yet done with my commitment. I've still many more talents to discover but I can now start to see that beam of light, fighting to break out from behind those dark clouds of
In philosophy it is used to focus on the individual’s conscious, perceptual and intellectual processes, excluding preconceptions and the idea of external consequences (Gregory, 1987). Phenomenology is a philosophical method aimed at getting at the truth - it aims to achieve clarity of insight and thought while including the subject. It makes a distinction between appearance and essence. It is a very appropriate philosophical method to apply to the theory and practice of art therapy. (Carpendale, 2003)
When I was in elementary school, I could not wait for middle school. When I was in middle school, I could not wait for high school. And now that I am in high school, I am absolutely terrified for the future. I wholeheartedly wish that I would have enjoyed the present instead of wishing for the future. Now, I find myself a junior at Chase High School wishing I could have back the precious minutes I wasted
Everyone in high school looks to one thing their whole 4 years of high school that is graduation I never really realized it till it hit me I 'm a senior in high school and I have no idea what I am doing I have a 2.0 GPA and I never really took school seriously I 've learned a lot of very important lessons these past 4 years. The first thing I learned is to enjoy life at the moment because time flies very quickly in the blink of an eye you 're all grown up. The second thing I learned was you should have fun but not too much fun there are things I regret and then there are the things I know I did right. I 've made some really bad decisions
Music therapy is the clinical use of music to achieve individual goals and improve relationships; it is also considered a form of Psychotherapy (Music Therapy Medicine). Melodies and harmonies are used to transport patients to new and safe places. The sweet rhythms brings peace and relaxation to stressed minds. Self-worth is found between each melodic note, and anxiety and depression are long forgotten. Memories that were once lost are now found, and medication is improved by this one simple healing tool.
Live and Learn In the article “A Homemade Education” by Malcolm X is about Malcolm not knowing how to write properly, he was frustrated about not being able to convey himself in his letters that he wrote especially to Mr. Elijah Mohammed. He didn't go past the eighth grade in school, so the only writing he knew was slang. Malcolm was in prison so he began to teach himself by requesting a dictionary along with some paper and pencils from Norfolk Prison Colony school to learn the meaning of words but most importantly to express himself.
Eileen Miller said that “Art can permeate the very deepest part of us, where no words exist.” Every person experiences emotion, and for some people these emotions are more prominent than they are for others. A great deal of those emotions are negative and make a person’s day to day life difficult to manage. Art is a beneficial form of stress relief and self-expression for several individuals. Research has shown that art therapy is a reliable and valid therapeutic treatment that reduces depression, improves social anxiety, and assists in treating individuals with many types of phobias.
Success is found in all goals that are accomplished no matter how small or large that they are. Being successful doesn 't always mean that one must accomplish goals that are hard. To others it could be marrying the person they love. To be happy with that person for the rest of their life is a big success. Being successful at an educational standpoint would be graduating college with a degree in a future career.
Therefore, I learned a lot from my experience and I feel confident that I will be able to apply my skills to my personal life, academic journey and professional
