In the years of the holocaust millions of people died. Including those of war prisoners and Jewish citizens. Several concentration camps were to blame because of this. Even though most did not live to the liberation there were a few lucky ones who survived and lived to tell about their experiences. Elie Wiesel spent his childhood in Auschwitz concentration camp, surrounded by death and misery, but managed to keep his head up and persevere through it. Alfred Wetzler and Rudolf Vrba escaped right past the guards and gates to freedom, risking everything. Many more survivors gathered up courage and escaped or be determined enough to live through it. There are more people that have died from the holocaust than have lived. Survivors fought their way through this treachery and are lucky to be alive. Most of the come from the time of the end of the war. In 1944 and 1945 concentration camps were being liberated. Soldiers from all over the world found hundreds of exhausted, tired and sick people. Even years after the trauma and hatred, these people were left with mental illness, physical deformities and being unable to adapt to a normal life again. They …show more content…
His book Night is about his personal experiences in the holocaust. He tells about his family and neighborhood were being taken to the concentration camps and were going to be working. They arrived at Birkenau Auschwitz. He and his father were separated from his mother and sisters, it was the last time they saw each other. He shed light on how nazis would mentally and physically abuse them he and his father had to go through rigorous things such as working in the factories and had to go through many selection processes. He also told about how he had to live in such crowded conditions, with disease and little food and water. He went through horrid things like surgery and the death march and ultimately dealing with the loss of his
Elie Wiesel, the author of Night, was born in a town of Sighet, Transylvania, which is now known as Romania, in the year 1928 of September 30th. Elizer had three sisters and was pursuing Jewish religious studies at a nearby yeshiva, before failing to flee the country for safety from the Nazi Germany Soldiers. At the age of 15, he, along with his family and the entire Jewish population, were expelled from their hometowns and were forced to relocate to concentration camps. Due to this outcome, Elie and his father were separated from his mother and sister and was deported to a concentration camp in Auschwitz in 1944. They were later transferred to a “very good camp,” called Buna in Buchenwald.

Elie survived the holocaust all based on chance.
The second world war (WWII) was one of the most widespread and deadliest wars. This lasted for six years from 1939 to 1945. During this war, Hitler was appointed chancellor of Germany, causing the Holocaust. Because of this, more than fifty million military and civilians died. At the time, Elie Wiesel was fifteen years old when him and his family were forced to leave their home.
Night, by Elie Wiesel, is a very dark and heavy book. The book is called night because the night is a dark, heavy, uncontrollable thing just like Elie’s life going through all the camps he did. The life in the first ghetto was good. They were allowed to practice their own religion and had a synagogue.
Thomas Buergenthal: Life Through The Holocaust Only 900,000 out of out of 6,000,000 survived the Holocaust. The Holocaust was, what some people consider to be the worst event in history.
Just imagine that you lost everything in just one night. You had to give everything up, leaving all your belongings behind and even your house. Who knows for how many years when all of them will be back, if some of them do back it. Maybe one day they would be reunited with all their family ,their house and all your belongings. In the book Night, the main character is Elie Wiesel and in Between Shades of Gray the main character is Lina.

It is estimated that 1.1 million jewish people were brought to Auschwitz and only around 200,000 came out alive. Two of those survivors were Vladek Spiegelman and Elie Wiesel who both have told their stories of being at Auschwitz to the world through books. Vladek’s son wrote about his life in a graphic novel called Maus and Elie Wiesel wrote his own book called Night. Another holocaust story that has some similarities to the books but also is very different since it’s fictional is the famous movie Life is Beautiful who’s main characters are Guido and Joshua.
Elie Wiesel was one of these victims who had to go through many traumatic incidents that forever changed his life. He had to take care of his father and try to help him survive, which gave him more of a reason to continue pushing through. Prisoners in concentration camps found the will to continue going through horrific events by holding
Elie Wiesel once said, “What hurts the victim most is not the cruelty of the oppressor, by the silence of the bystander”. This quote means that being put through something so horrific as the holocaust concentration camps was not the worst part of the holocaust, but rather that people knew what was going on but never took action to stop this tragic event. The injustice of the people, mostly Jews, who had to go through the process of leaving everything behind and starting a new life where they were forced to work together in very unstable conditions is something that can never be payed back. This injustice lead to more than just the time and lives that we can't get back, it lead to dehumanization of innocent woman, children, men, elders, and
From the beatings, starvation, and other awful things, the survivors of the Holocaust would never be the same as they was. Some survivors of the Holocaust tell their stories so we all remember that what Hitler did is unforgivable and that it should never be
Those people who survived found the strength to endure the Holocaust. Elie Wiesel had the strength to endure the incredibly harsh conditions of the holocaust because he had his father by his side. When Elie thought his father was no longer alive with him in the concentration camp he broke and could only cry “The Kapo who had given me easier tasks that day. I felt sick at heart. How kindly they treated me.
During the Holocaust, almost every victim had to face suffering including emotional trauma from being so afraid of the
Even though most of the people felt as if God wasn’t with them anymore, they continued to endure all of the physical and mental scarring. A twenty mile march wasn’t going to stop all the thousands of prisoners, they continued to overcome many obstacles throughout the book. All of the prisoners that survived put their minds to something, and they were able to overcome many obstacles. Obstacles can be very difficult, but you have to keep
