We are writing in connection with Brannon and Shana Hogan’s move to your congregation. Brother and Sister Hogan lived in our area for a number of years and attended meetings briefly when they first arrived. When asked why they stopped Brannon mentioned in his previous congregation he was given too much responsibility too soon. This was made worse by his tendency to be a perfectionist which caused him emotional stress. He was afraid by returning to meetings he would find himself back in the same situation. He also talked about being frustrated by some brothers who in his mind were not acting as Christians but remained in good standing. Although not attending meetings the friends would stopping by regularly to say hello. Brannon was a pleasure

Summary: This article is about a man named Jaime Prater who was born and raised in Jesus People USA (JPUSA), a religious community where the leadership clothes you, feeds you, educates you, and basically raises you. JPUSA were started by hippies who used to travel through the USA, but soon settled down in Chicago, and is now run by an authoritarian leader and councilship members. Jaime Prater was born into this community and thought of it as his family, but when he was 8 years old he was molested. He took it to the council, but they shut it down to stop spreading rumors and isolated him. In isolation, he felt lonely and scared for three and a half years, and left the comminity in his early 20’s after he realized that he didn’t belong.
Our Journey As I look back upon our journey with the Knee to Knee Couples Club, I feel an overwhelming sense of pride, fulfillment and accomplishment that God gave me the vision and the inspiration to begin the club and what a journey it has been! As the solo officer of The Family Life Department of The Bethany SDA Church in 2003, I felt it necessary and important that the church be more proactive to strengthen families and improve the quality of their relationships. Strong families in the church would translate into a stable church empowered to fulfill God’s mandate for this world.

They served for about two years and then came back to Kansas City, Missouri to start a family. They now live happily with their three-year-old son, Malachi. The Swicks served these two years faithfully as worship leaders and radio station workers in the city. The author context of ministry involves a predominant African American community below poverty level. The location is considered a rural area, because it is surround by other small churches. The rural area is basically family oriented, indicating families influence one another positively and negatively in church attendance. The church order of service begins with intercessory prayer, then, the regular order of service ministers in devotion, worship, praise, and a sermon. When preaching a sermon a person should know the audience background through discipleship and fellowship.
All of the expressions on the faces, blended into one sandy haze.” There seemed to be no purpose in life in the compound. Later Colson met other Christians. He met guys like Tex, Bob Ferguson, Paul Kramer, and Emmett Hatfield. They began praying fervently, emotionally, and openly with each other.
When he spoke again, he sounded as baffled as he looked. ‘How can you call him your ‘friend?’’ But he is not my friend... he’s my servant!” (41)
“More weight,” stated by Giles Corey from, “The Crucible,” before he was pressed to death for witchcraft. Giles Corey was one of the oldest people to be killed during the Salem Witch Trials. The Salem Witch Trials was a series of events that took place in 1692, where innocent people were hung for apparently being witches. The people in the trials were tried in court and the girls who accused them would act like the person or people were sending spirits towards them to make the judges believe them. Giles Corey reminds me of myself by his sarcasm during conversations, always acting ornery, and the comical remarks he makes.
I have recognized the calling upon my life and fully understand the obedience to the call is important. God directed our family to New Life Ministries. Suddenly, I had a personal revelation and was given direct instructions. After accepting the invitation to this course, my great leader gave us the tools, components, and the scriptures to apply in our spiritual lives. I learned the hand ministry is the government of God.
During the past six months, our youth group has seen several of our young people leave our group. We have heard that many of these young people have been encouraged to join the youth group connected to Destiny Church. Our youth group leader believes that it would be useful to know why our young people are being drawn to this group, and understand what the beliefs of the Destiny Church are and whether these beliefs are the teachings of the Christian tradition. I have been asked by our leader to prepare an analysis report which explores these questions. Destiny Church is an interesting group to report on as it grew from traditional Pentecostal beginnings, however it has adopted a charismatic form of Christianity lead by one individual, Bishop
Regarding the impact that others in a meeting have on his decision making process, it is given to understand that he desires to know the heart and the motives behind the individual speaking before moving forward with any suggestions made. His concerns regarding this issue are that motives may be proliferated by traditionalists, resistant to change or by those seeking vain-glory, taking on many forms. In matters of job security, this pastor remains open to serve the Lord where He wants him to serve. As he said, “At the end of the day, God has not called us to be employed, but to be faithful.” Ultimately, this pastor in many ways still seeks to attain “a balanced view on all issues,” desiring to make educated decisions.
First, I am going to begin this journal entry on my experience from taking this class (Church Renewal and Evangelism). I have mentioned in my book review of my take away feelings about this class. One of the requirements in the assignments for the class was a group project. Personally, I never find it warming to work in a class group project, for the simple reason that one or two persons believe it should be about them and not the group. Having this concept and feeling about the class group project, I was not in class on the day when the groups were selected.
Compassionate Neighbours Children’s Home was founded by Bishop Josiah Okoth Mwima, who was saved from behind bars and came back to find his children really struggling. He started the Home in order to take care of the children of prisoners and many other orphans. He truly believes in taking care of the children and helping them become the leaders of tomorrow. The Home wants to heal the children when they are in pain, give them a place to call home, build trust and create stronger bonds with them and even create better futures for the children and the community at large. The Home ensures they give the children hope in terms of health care, food, education, clothing, spiritual teaching, shelter, parental love and many more.
