It is very clear that Sea Turtle Preservation Society and Keep Brevard Beautiful are struggling to keep up with trash in the county. In 2013, the 914 volunteer hours recorded totaled up to be only $19, 194. (6.3 Beach Cleanup) Along with Keep Brevard Beautiful $450,000 and $583,000 from volunteers, there is only $1,033,000 to clean up 72 miles of beaches in Brevard. (Space Coast Beaches) These organizations have to pay for employees, gas for vehicles, trash bags, sunscreen, and also pay for maintaining their equipment for pepper busting besides just cleaning up beaches. 380,160 feet of beach is a huge barrier to overcome when the others factors of paying for other necessities are added into the equation. After everything is paid for, there is only about half a million dollars to cover 380,160 feet. Granted a lot of beach is reserved due to the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and Canaveral National Seashore, so 40.6 miles is left of beaches along the coast of the Atlantic. (Google Maps) This doesn’t account for the Indian and the Banana River beaches. If there only 2 cans for every 1,000 feet of the 214,368 of Atlantic shoreline, this states that there are only about 4,288 cans all along the coast of the …show more content…
The remedy for this poison slowly deteriorating Brevard is for Brevard Commissioners to enforce regulations for trash on beaches through law enforcement. They also need to add $100,000 dollars to Keep Brevard Beautiful as well as the Sea Turtle Preservation Society to solve the negative influences trash has on Brevard including trash. These two simple resolutions would go hand in hand with each other for cleaning and preventing the issues unnecessary garbage has on too many parts of Brevard’s beaches. These two feasible intentions would reap awesome benefits for everyone and everything on the Beach and

The marine life that was once present in the Bay a few decades ago have now decreased tremendously in size because of overfishing and polluted waters. The water of the Bay area now has gathered large amounts of pollution, debris, disease, and overfishing, which threatened the marine life. Chesapeake Bay is slowly decreasing in cleanliness and ocean life, which are essential to the Bay. What is this family doing to prevent the
I am a student at Beville Middle School, Prince William County, writing you today to express my deep troubles over the Chesapeake Bay. My biggest concern is about the blue crabs in the estuary. Published articles indicate that the blue crab population is reducing due to over-harvesting and reduction of suitable habitat. Even though the blue crab population has made a remarkable comeback in recent years, it is vital for us to act by any means necessary to save the population of the blue crabs.
Sure it’s nice for people to consider the well being of the fish, but sometimes we have to ask ourselves if what we are doing is really worth it and how it will affect us in the long run. I am pretty sure these 1 billion dollars can go towards something more useful than the San Joaquin River Restoration
They take this responsibility every year and tons of boaters come from all over the bay
One gum wrapper may not significantly harm a habitat, but with the amount of visitors beaches have those gum wrappers pile up. It is not just wrappers. There are lost shovels, forgotten water bottles, left behind towels and shoes. And even if you had volenteers who truly understood the imporatnce of taking acre of this enviornment, it would be a battle that would be non stop. The problems do not stop here.
Here on Henderson Island, there is a lot of cleaning to do. Plastic, lots of plastic! Plastic seems to be one of the primary objects to find on beaches. We could use everyone's help to clean up this mess that is visible. People should be way more considerate when they throw their trash out of their window of their car, or just throw trash on the ground in the street, and It harms a lot.
People want to see change; some have even suggested SeaWorld closing for good and releasing all the animals back into the wild. However, preparing the animals to be released is costly
This alternative to radically decrease the salt content of the sea water to an acceptable percentage of drinking is extremely costly, potentially environment unfriendly and involves extensive monitoring to ensure the correct levels of salt that is left behind. The largest challenge is for every “two gallons of ocean water that go in; one gallon of drinking water comes out. The leftover gallon contains super-salty brine. This doubly salty water is mixed with the city's wastewater and then piped back out to sea and spread around, about 30 miles offshore” (NPR). The price tag married to this endeavor is not only monetarily costly for the state, but may also create new environmental concerns.

Animals being effected by trash, such as plastic, ending up in the ocean, the forest, and neighborhood parks are being quickly wiped
Motlow State Community College does not offer a cafeteria for students at the Smyrna Center. Constructing a cafeteria at Motlow State Community College would be beneficial for everyone, including the staff and students. A cafeteria would offer convenience for students and staff, increase the attendance rate, and allow students to engage in social interactions with one another. Not only is cafeteria favorable for the Motlow State community, but it would multiply the revenue for the school. Predominantly, constructing a cafeteria will improve the Smyrna campus as a whole.
The Chesapeake Bay is an important ecological landmark in the United States, stretching across six states and providing habitat for a diverse array of species. However, the health of the bay has been severely degraded by pollution from agriculture, urbanization, and industrial activity. To restore the health of the bay, it is important to take a comprehensive approach that focuses on reducing pollution, restoring habitats, and promoting sustainable practices. In this essay, I will outline an action plan for restoring the health of the bay and the types of activities that need to be modified to achieve a successful restoration.

Discussion: Marine Debris, also known as marine trash is man-made waste that is released into oceans and coastal waters due to human activities. Marine debris brings up many environmental problems to both humans and the marine ecosystem. According to Ocean Conservancy (2014), the common types of marine debris collected include cigarette butts, food wrappers, beverage bottles and cans, plastic bags, straws and glass bottles. Although these wastes seem to come from offshore activities, studies suggest only 20% of the pollution comes from ships or offshore platforms, the rest originates from land-based activities (Sheavly & Register, 2007). We will discuss the causation and effects of marine debris and propose solutions to mitigate marine litter issue in Singapore.
