However, the author notes that this is not unique to Paul and is a common practice in boxing. So even though this can be looked at in a negative way the author makes sure to add in the objective way of seeing it as in other boxers do this all the time. The controversy surrounding Jake Paul's opponents is a significant part of the criticism that he has faced in the boxing community. Some critics have accused Paul of selecting fighters who are not professional boxers and are unlikely to pose a serious challenge. This has led to concerns about the credibility of his victories and whether his matches are truly competitive.
The community all supported George when he needed to see his worth. The community was what helped him get through the idea that he was worthless. Just as George Bailey needed the support from others to help him find his worth, Rocky needed just the same. Rocky Balboa,
McKelley would reflect on Creed in a few ways: he would see Donnie trying to express masculinity while lacking family support through the trauma of his father’s death. Inclosing Rocky – his “new” father, Donnie risks losing his connection to masculinity entirely. First, masculinity in some cases is significant for some people but it will not detail what the real person is about. On the other hand, for instantly, Donnie was suffering from the pain of his father death when he was too young.

The Great Depression was a devastating period in United States History, the economy collapsed, and a staggering 25% of the population was unemployed. During this time, there were large wage disparity gaps that were very prevalent, there was no middle class, you were either wealthy or you were poor. It was hard for family life to continue, parents had to take up two and three jobs to make sure their kids were staying safe, and well. Most of these jobs were odd-jobs, and were temporary with no sense of security. It was a struggle to find work, and no job was too demeaning for you to do, because you may not find work again.

He lasted the entire 15 rounds against the greatest boxer and with this accomplishment, he accomplished a goal that can not be seen by outsiders, but only by those who know of his sole purpose behind joining the match in the first place. This accomplishment symbolizes transition as a character, from being the underdog to someone with much confidence and passion.

Ivan Drago of the Soviet Union, is the model for the prototypical boxer of the future; big, strong, and groomed to fight through science. The portrayal of nationalism is very apparent in this movie, such as when Apollo Creed and Ivan Drago fight in Las Vegas. Elements such as Apollo’s entrance to the ring can be viewed as nationalism because it was very ostentatious, with singing, dancing, and lots of theatrics such as smoke machines, hyping up Apollo Creed. While on the other hand, the movie was discrediting Drago for entering the ring while it was underground and no one could see him until Apollo’s entrance. The difference in their warm up gear can be another example of nationalism, Apollo Creed had a flashy outfit with lots of shiny objects, and was red white and blue like the American Flag.
