I am a highly motivated and competitive individual. In all areas of my life, I strive to be the best that I can be. I 've been running competitively since I was in 6th grade. Over that time, I 've ran almost 10,000 miles and have now become a 4x All American in college track and field. Though these accomplishments may not mean anything in the long run, I believe they are a good indication of my work ethic in everything I do. Being a college athlete and balancing the daily commitment of practice along with school work, is not something that everyone can do. I 've been able to balance all this while excelling on the track, and more importantly, in the classroom. In July of 2015, I was honored for my excellence as a student-athlete, by being

Throughout my four years of high school, I have kept myself occupied by participating in three student organizations that has developed me into a helpful and prestigious individual. My participation in the Alexander High School UIL Academic team taught me the lesson of hard work pays off. I took the opportunity to join my high school's UIL current events and social studies team which allowed me to compete against others based on my knowledge of the topic. By competing, UIL has educated me that in order to succeed, you must be willing to make sacrifices and dedicate your time towards studying in order to earn a medal or a ribbon. Changing the Game For the Better It’s the bottom of the ninth, the home team’s star player is up to bat, and the team is down by one. With the bases loaded, the hometown hero steps up to the plate. With the aroma of grilled foods flowing through the air, he can hear the ball soaring through the air as he swings his wooden bat as hard as he can, smashing a 400 foot grand slam and winning the game on a walk-off home run. The whole town screams in joy, not knowing that their star player has been using steroids and other drugs daily.

The enjoyment of running is not completely tied up in winning or losing; however, nothing motivated me more to become a better runner than not being able to represent my school at the state meet during the 2014 cross country season. I joined the team in 2013 during my sophomore year, and I enjoyed early success as I made the varsity squad. Our boys’ team entered regionals with a chance to run at state, but we missed it by a few points. Soon, it was my second season of cross country running. This year was different from the previous season.
