Communication is an inevitable aspect of life. It is an event which happens almost every second of every day. Communication is an act of giving and receiving of information—desires, needs, perceptions, knowledge, etc.—of two or more persons through orthodox or unorthodox methods which can either be intentional or unintentional (de Valenzuela 2002). There are numerous types of communication and one is interpersonal communication. Interpersonal communication is one of the communication fields that several studies have focused on. It is a social context that involves interaction between two or more people. “Interpersonal communication is fundamental to managing marriages, friendships, and superior/subordinate relationships” (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee …show more content…
However, in the late 1950s, the “tease” part vanished as it outlived its usefulness, and having been ravaged by time was shortened to “stripping” or traded in for the euphemistic “exotic dancing”” (Shteir 2004, 1). “Nudity in the theatre became both a symbol of free love and a mark of men’s oppression of women, and topless and bottomless dancing…” (Shteir 2004, 5). Since then, this kind of demure performance turned into explicit stripping and nude lap …show more content…
And since the customers in strip clubs are also men, the idea that “men are more powerful and dominant than women” is further reinforced because they are the ones being served at in strip clubs; they were the ones paying the female strippers. These lead men to treat women as weaker and lower than them.
Prostitutes and whores are words which pertain to women who do this kind of ‘job’. In countries like the Australia and New Zealand, the term sex work is the most accepted term they use to pertain to this kind of job, however here in the Philippines, the term prostituted woman is used to pertain to those who strip and dance in strip clubs (Ditmore 2006). Because of these, women who participate in this line of work were seen and considered as low individuals in the society.
These terms are words used by people to call women who strip and dance in strip clubs. These words are mostly condescending for when someone called an individual any of these terms, it may mean that that individual is a member of the lower class because he/she is involved in that kind of job instead of doing a decent work in a decent work place such as office works and the like. Yet, people still continue to enter this line of

Chapter two in the textbook Reflect & Relate an Introduction to Interpersonal Communication by Steven McCornack talks all about what “self” is and how to achieve complete fulfillment for one’s self which is also known as self-actualization. The components of self, as described in the book are, “ . . . self-awareness, self-concept, and self-esteem” (McCornack 39). Self-awareness is the idea in which one can take a moment to move feelings, beliefs, and other external influences aside and just evaluate oneself in a holistic perspective that is not skewed by opinions of others, etc. Having the ability to actually think about who one is brings a lot of power and mental stability in such a way that allows for improvement.
There are five different types of prostitution according to Miethe and McCorkle in the book The Police in America by Walker and Katz. There are commonly female prostitutes, but it should be realized that there are male prostitutes. There are as follows: streetwalker, bar girls, skeezers, brother prostitutions, and calls girls. According to The Police in America book, streetwalkers are the lowest type of prostitutes in society. They often are women on the lower social economic scales.

This theory was made by Michael Argyle (1925- 2002), who was a social psychologist. In the late 1960s he studied social skills, body language, non-verbal communication and interpersonal behaviour. In this study, he found that non-verbal signals can be much more important and useful than verbal communication when trying to trigger peoples’ attitudes and feelings. His research showed and found that the stronger the relationship between the people communicating so with close friends for example the much better eye contact. However, when the relationship is not very strong so when speaking to a stranger people don’t have very good eye contact and they tend to look away when talking.
Introduction Nursing is provision of professional care to individuals, families, and communities in order to make them attain, maintain or recover optimal health and resume the good quality of life. Other than the receiving professional training and possessing well-trained therapeutic skills, nurses should also have good ability of interpersonal communication, because during the process of therapy, large amount of communications are involved in it. Nurses and patients will experience an inter exchange of information between each other so as to reach their mutual goals. Hildegard E. Peplau raised the theory of interpersonal relations, the theory explains the phases of interpersonal process and nurses’ roles in different phases, encouraging
There are those who pass negative judgment on this occupation as being a classless way to make money, a gateway to prostitution and leading to a self-destructive path. Moreover, some also may think that most dancers are uneducated or lethargic in pursuit of alternative career paths. The stereotypes of this profession may be true in some cases, but not for every dancer. A person cannot completely judge a book by its cover based solely on assumption. Attempting cultural research and applying effective interpersonal communication with an exotic dancer, will help to better understand the culture, from their perspective.
Title In everyday life, communication is constantly and subconsciously used. The importance of human connection in life is often overlooked. Interpersonal communication is a dynamic form of communication between two (or more) people in which the messages exchanged significantly influence their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships (pg. 11 text book).
Over the years, mass communication has been defined in several ways. While some view it as a process, others perceive it as a skill. But apart from these two classifications, I particularly view mass communication as a tool since it is an essential device that can be used in one’s everyday life. It is an instrument all humans can make use of in delivering their intended messages to their family, friends and even to strangers. Charles Berger and Richard Calabrese suggested the same perception as they proposed their theory called the Uncertainty Reduction Theory.
Social context In a social environment communication tends to be informal and unplanned, and is a large part of everyday life in a school. For example, parents chatting to one another in the playground, or a teacher talking to a parent at the end of a school day. This type of communication tends to be more personal and informal. Ensuring you are considerate, respectful and listen to others builds a positive
INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION- It is form of exchanging information through the usage of messages, non-verbal actions and facial expressions. This type of communication is useful in professional, personal and social life of a person. Interpersonal communication is a transactional process-
Introduction: Communication is sharing process which involves expressing ideas, thoughts, feelings or sending the right message that is also being correctly received and understand by the other person/s who is receiving it on the other end. We all communicate with others in our lives. We communicate with our families, when we go shopping, at school or college or chat with friends. Communication with others is a natural part of life.
The two key topics in class in the last weeks, for me. Two of the most relevant topics developed in the last weeks were: non-verbal communication and the barriers to communication. Everytime we communicate with another person or group of people, we have to take into account some factors other than what we are actually saying that can affect how the message is going to be received: body language, tone, intonation, facial expressions, and others; this is what we understand for non-verbal communication. As we saw in class “55% of communication is body language, 38% is the tone of voice, and 7% is the actual words spoken.”
