With so many different variations of food today, all coming from different cultures and regions of the world, there is undoubtedly just as many diverse places to choose from. Many of these establishments revolve around the same basic principles of trying to please their customers to ensure their business thrives. Two of my favorite, Red Lobster and Long John Silvers, have succeeded in maintaining a happy customer base and as a result, flourished into chain franchises that can be found all over the country. Success has made them easy to compare and taking a look at their menu, customer service, dine-in and take-out options will allow anyone to see just why they have done so well. Both restaurants have become known for their wide variety of …show more content…
Both places have friendly staff and waiters to take orders and a competent team of chefs to prepare food when their guests have selected it. Where they differ in their service, starts to show in how quickly their food is delivered. With Long John Silvers being a chain fast food company, people tend to have less face time with the staff than they would at Red Lobster. Their guests start by waiting in line, placing their order, then getting basic items such as a cup for their drink. At Red lobster, however, they are greeted and escorted to their table and then seen to by a waiter for the remainder of their visit. This is why which establishment I eat at depends on the time I have available, Red Lobster tending to be a longer visit then at Long John Silvers. This leads into our next point their dine-in and take-out …show more content…
With these options available, they have made themselves accessible to many people despite time constrictions and opened up their doors for a larger variety of customers. Between the two, however, Long John Silvers is still quicker as it is a fast food restaurant chain. As most fast food diners, Long John Silvers has a drive through that Red Lobster lacks, offering the option to make decisions on the fly, where at Red Lobster, guests have to call ahead to simply drive by and pick up their meals. The difference between the two inside, comes in the form of to-go plates. Red Lobster with their larger portions, often leads to a customer not finishing their entire meal. To combat this, Red Lobster offers the option of a to-go plate where they can simply place a meal inside of a portable container allowing it to be brought home. Long John Silvers, requires their customers make this selection upon ordering. Between these two, I prefer dine-in usually as I get to do it less often, the average person tends to eat more often at the faster diners. So, which one is my favorite
As is stated in the interview paper I used to work at a restaurant called Culver’s. Culver’s mission statement is: Every guest who walks through the door in every neighborhood, from Wisconsin to Texas, gets the same friendly treatment we offered on our very first day in 1984. We bring the often forgotten, hometown values of quality and customer service to neighborhoods throughout the country. Quality food and fresh ingredients are the hallmarks of any Culver’s experience, but we understand that a great meal is so much more than just good food.
For the main course, try one of the restaurant’s specialty Boars Head deli sandwiches or choose from a variety of broiled and fried seafood platters. Lobster Claw also offers catering and take-out services with a special
On the other hand, In N' Out has 2 to 3 cashiers working, and it's in a much more confined space which reduces movement to everyone so it's just slower. Both of these restaurants get you your food fast, however Dick's Drive In is just faster because of the speed it takes to get people food, and the amount of people waiting to take someone's

This restaurant is fantastic for quality food such as, sandwiches, mac ‘n cheese, and salads. Panera is a perfect, quick place to eat.
This concept is now one of the most popular for a preferred dining experience, and new entrants are eyeing the market on how to enter, and existing restaurant titans are figuring out how to compete with these new disruptors. Some entrants into this segment have

Lobsters caged in the Noonan’s restaurant symbolizes Stacy’s struggle with the intense feelings of fear and being trapped. As she tries to describe what the life of lobsters in the tank, she realizes she feels captive. She thinks about lobsters and their view of world around them: “It probably looks like an alien planet out here…so you don’t even know what the story’s a bout, who’s the good guy and who’s the bad guy…Or maybe, instead of an actual place or thing, to a lobster it looks only an idea out here. That scared her.” (Banks 23-34).
Fast food can actually be healthier than lunch food. Fast food may have quality meat, depending on which fast food restaurant, but it is very high in calories, carbohydrate, oil, and fat. Lunch food may use different meat, depending on which school it is, but there are standards for what meat and food is being sold in schools, which for that, students can be eating healthily. Fast food should not be served at schools it contains many chemicals that aren’t safe for students to eat, fast food can also lower academic performance for many students, fast food is the cause of diseases, leading students to probably feel sick if they aren’t eating the right foods. Fast food would be nice as an option for students for eating, but the only reason that fast food should be served as lunch is if the cafeteria food is not hitting standards or expectations.
Across the United States there are many fast food chains in just about every town, this would include the popular chicken fast food restaurant, Chic Fil A. In many places Chic Fil A is held to a high regard as a restaurant in the fast food industry. Its unrivaled service is considered the best among all restaurants in America; from the employee’s willingness to be polite as well as the fast service makes the chain an enjoyable place to visit for all. Along with its unmatched service, Chic Fil A has become popular at perfecting simple things such as chicken sandwiches, nuggets and other chicken based dishes as well as seasonal drinks and milkshakes. In an article written by Business Insider, there are several factors pointed out that help
Travelers who go places to visit family, or any other reason, gets hungry and would like to see a familar fast food restaurant they can go to everytime they travel. As Visser said “When a huge modern business conglomerate offers fast food to travelers on the highway, it knows that its customers are likely to desire No Surprises. The restaurant that is known for travelers to stop at when tired and hungry is McDonalds. You can find a McDonalds about anywhere you go in the world and its always fast service most of the time.

Panera has done all of those as far as I can tell, I personally do not care much for the price or amount of food they offer but everything else is spot on (many people I know love Panera). Panera has many rivals, much more than normal; they compete from both ends of the spectrum which is probably why they are doing so well. Their market is so large they can handle the pressure from outside. Five Forces Model Factor Analysis Impact Rivals competitive Pressure • Buyer costs to switch brands are low • Competitors are numerous and equal in size and competitive strength
Everyday billions of people all of the world decide how they will provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner for themselves and/or their families. People enjoy gathering around food for all types of celebrations, football games, family gatherings, meetings, and more. Food is an absolute necessity in our lives as it is the fuel for our bodies and everyone has the choice to cook meals within their homes each day or they have the choice of eating out at a restaurant. In the time we are living in today there are a lot more restaurants available than there was 50 years ago and the number continues to rise. Both eating out and eating at home have advantages and disadvantages
A customer’s first impression of a restaurant stems from the atmosphere and the service and these are critical items in getting a first time customer to become a regular. Ensuring that this newly available time is focused on ensuring that the processes relating to those two items are efficient can help to ensure business continuity. This also means; increased demand, increased productivity and overall improvement in the restaurant’s efficiency which would lead to increase revenues, and service quality. There are always a flip side to every new venture and outsourcing is not any different as there are disadvantages that are faced by restaurants. The key disadvantage is that it becomes difficult to ensure that the quality of the food provided meets the standards of the restaurants.
