I firmly believe that i deserve this award granted by the Courage to Grow Scholarship. Education is greatly important to me and my future. No one in my family has ever attended college and I know that I can change that. I may come from a poor family but it is my goal to be successful in the career i choose.
Never would they have imagined going to school let alone attending college but because of them I was able to attend school, graduate high school, and attend college. Because of them I had the amazing opportunity to be born in one of the greatest countries in the world and study to become anything or anyone I wanted to be. Because of them and with the help of the Clark Construction Field Scholarship I am able to pursue a degree in Special Elementary education with a minor in Human services and speech pathology and audiology. Without being awarded the scholarship for the past two years my parents and I wouldn’t be able to afford tuition and I wouldn 't be able to pursue a degree. I am not sure what the future may hold for me
I believe that I am qualified for this scholarship because of how much I have grown at Wendell Baptist Church. It has helped me grow in my walk with God through missions and through serving. It has helped me appreciate the little things in life like the slides during services on sunday morning. Showing me that the little things like that do not just happen and some people put a lot of work into making them happen. Wendell Baptist Church has also shown me just how great my life is and how the problems I think I have are actually not that big of a deal in the long run.
I 'm very proud of this award because of its competitivity. I had to complete amongst the top twenty girls in the state of Colorado to get this award. I was also elected as Senior Class President. In addition, I was awarded The Presidential Award that was given to me by the White House for being in honors roll for my whole high school Career. At the same time, I was leaving in Denver, Colorado by myself.
Joining the sisterhood of Kappa Kappa Gamma has enhanced my life in many ways. Throughout the past year, I not only met the friends that will be with me for the rest of my life, but met the people I call family. Every member of this sisterhood has encouraged me to be a better version of myself. In particular, this past semester, living in the chapter house and being surrounded by this amazing family throughout most of my day has increased by GPA, improved my mental and physical health, and decreased the stress that comes with being in college.
This is the narrative I live every day in my thoughts. I have used scholarships as a devoted component throughout my high school career to drive me to achieve the highest academic standards possible in my pursuit of a degree. I put forth a lot
I am proud of this accomplishment because it has gotten me a lot of good opportunities. For example I attend Young Women's Leadership Charter School, and there is an organization called Girl Power. Girl Power is resource my school has to attract funds. There is an event every year, and you are chosen to attend the event if you have
The Douglas Honors Diversity scholarship will help me achieve my educational and professional goals in many ways. This scholarship will help me continue my education and career path that I am passionate about. I am the first in my family to pursue a higher education. I am also the first in my family to deviate from a “set” path for me. I come from a family that lives off of state help, so we are not able to pay for a higher education.
The Influence of Grit and Growth Mindset in one’s life In Eduardo Briceno’s view “The key to success is not simply effort, focus, or resilience, it is the growth mindset that creates them.” Grit is the quality that enables individuals to work hard enough and stick to their long-term passions and goals. Growth mindset is the intelligence that can be developed and the ability to accept debacle. Two special features that will help one achieve in academics, personal life, and career are grit and growth mindset.
Some things I enjoy doing are taking my dogs for walks, finishing projects that I know I have done my best on, and working with others. During my free time, I enjoy volunteering at park cleanups and food banks. But, I most enjoy hanging out and playing around with my friends. Possessing all the necessary qualities, plus other exceptional attributes, compels me to believe that I am worthy of this award. Courage is a necessity when it comes to school.
To the scholarship committee, I think that I am a good candidate for the scholarship "Anita and Tim Link Faith & reason scholarship" because my personality fits the scholarship well. "Possessing the qualities of high academic achievement" is one of the objectives for earning the scholarship. That is one of my strengths, I have gotten a twenty-two on the ACT in seventh grade. I also have the ninety-ninth percent on MAPs tests repeatedly. I have done more than simply academic excellence.
Thank you for gifting a scholarship. Your’s truly, Owen Newton
This scholarship will be able aid my family with my college finances tremendously. I am extremely driven to graduate from college with a Bachelors degree in Science of Nursing. I am a very determined student that does not give up easily and pushes themselves to the maximum ability just to ensure I get the grades I believe I deserve. I will not take this opportunity for granted, and I will make sure I take advantage of this scholarship by confirming that I will work hard in all of my classes to be able to master all the needs to become a Nurse. I will have tough challenges during this career path that I shall work hard to succeed in.
Although it has been really tough I am still here fighting the good fight and planning my next move to accomplishing my goals, I want this scholarship so those goals will be achieved I want Portland State University to feel proud of me and not just some other student that drops out and is forgotten. This scholarship is a wonderful opportunity for students of GVSU, and I am honored to be considered for this scholarship. I believe that I am a great applicant for this scholarship, and that I deserve this scholarship. One reason I deserve this scholarship is because of my strong academic courses. Throughout my high school career, I pushed myself academically by taking a total of 10 AP classes and 7 honors classes. These classes were all challenging, yet I pushed through with determination to complete the classes to the best of my ability.
But now that I am aware of how important education is, I knew I must put in the effort and time that it takes to be deserving of scholarship money. First, I must say this. I was born and raised in
