Four years ago I made a decision to attend Davidson Day HIgh School (DDS). I was choosing between two schools in the area. I made a list of positive/negatives with each school, then waited for some sort of sign. I went to the Charlotte Knights Baseball game, that’s when it became obvious what to do. You could say it was a coincidence or simply ironic... while watching the next player walk up to bat, on the back of his shirt read “Davidson 22,” my lucky number and the name of my prospective school. He then proceeded to hit a homerun. Now realistically the positives outweighed the negatives but it was a moment I felt was my personal sign of affirmation to attend DDS. Here I am today in a similar situation, making a decision on where to attend …show more content…
My positive list was full. I really want to be at a thriving University that is growing and expanding technology. ASU offers an study abroad program, something I want to do. There’s clubs to go with your majors, athletic clubs, outdoor recreation, volunteer activities... the list in endless. ASU has strong majors that will help me be prepared for the future after college. The Nutrition and Foods (BS) gives two options for concentrations. This choice helps you to focus on your passion. ASU has hands on experiences. A learning style I feel is the best way to test yourself by being in real situations. I can extend what I learn at ASU outside the campus. This approach plays in my favor because I like how ASU works locally with their community. I understand it will be challenging at ASU, but with a support system in place on campus, help is available. For example, there is a writing lab, technology support, career exploration and a counseling center. Most importantly, college professors are available to help and share their experiences with me. If given the opportunity to be a student at Appalachian State University, I will bring the same friendly attitude I received when I took my campus tour of ASU. On campus, I will be the one wearing ASU t-shirts, working with a study group or exercising in the Recreation Center. Of course this is just the start of what ASU has to offer, my list of positive qualities
The reason of why Hazel took the non-paying job at New Hope School in Boise City was because she felt bad about the school not getting the proper support that the school needs in order to run smoothly. Another reason of why New Hope School was broken and couldn’t pay the teachers was because the farmers had stop paying taxes which led the school to go bankrupt without no support from the government nor the president. Hazel had a newborn baby girl named Ruth Nell; she died on dust pneumonia when she was just a year
Harel Tillinger In the case presented, Hopewell High School has a practice of saying a voluntary prayer before each football game in which the coaches may participate and these prayers take place on school grounds. A father of two football players on the team, sued the school district because his children do not participate in the team prayers and are ostracized for doing so. In the case of O’Connell v. Hopewell School District, New Jersey, Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr delivers the opinion of the court.
We the people of Russell Kansas find our safety, community, and families at risk! These past couple of years we have been disturbed by the drugs and festation of the people committing theses crimes and acts around us. Russell is known for our quiet country feel where are children can be safe to run and play without the worries because of our self engaging community. Since the years, we are noticing large amounts of drugs soaring through or streets in which have began to affect the unimaginable. Our concern for the safety of our wellbeing would be in better hands if there was more law enforcement to help fulfill these uneasy feelings.
Eric Klein influenced me to apply to Syracuse University, he is a currently in his senior year at Syracuse University. I have grown up being around Eric and his family. Most of the Klein family has attended Syracuse University. Including, Scott Klein, Debbie Klein, David Klein and now Eric Klein. The Klein family is very successful in everything they do, and that is also a huge influence on applying to Syracuse.
Gisselle Zepeda Mr. Lievre American Government Credit 5 Board of Education of Westside Community Schools Versus Mergens The Equal Access Act upheld by the Supreme Court in Board of Education v. Mergens, 1990, requires public secondary schools to allow access to religiously based student groups on the same basis as other student clubs. The school administration denied a group of students their right to create a Christian after school club. The students intended for their club to have just the same privileges and club meetings as all other after school clubs. The schools excuse being that it lacked faculty support which led to the school and district being sued by the students.
During my last year of middle school at Drew Freeman my life changed. I was exposed to a wonderful opportunity. I was given the chance to take a test that would determine
I have worked so hard in school waiting for a moment like this. UNCW would be a great challenge for me, but it would also help me out immensely. UNCW has a excellent education program and that is exactly the field of study I aim to go into. I spent approximately half of my sophomore year at the early college tutoring at Dobson Elementary. I cherished every second helping my fifth grade class.
If you want to know the value of a second, ask a hopeful right before sign drop. Drill team girls from all over Texas and even out of state have high hopes of becoming part of the future line of The Kilgore College Rangerettes. Every year the competition gets tougher and the girls hoping for a spot on the prestigious drill team are becoming more competitive and stronger dancers. I was one of these girls who decided to take a chance and endure a week long audition and hope to see my tryout number on the sign in Dodson Auditorium on July 17, 2015. Unfortunately, I was not one of the girls chosen for the 76th line of Rangerettes.
I believe that Appalachian State University is the place for me. It is ideal for my career and educational goals in the field of business. If I were admitted I believe that the students at Appalachian could learn a lot about accepting diversity from me. I want to have a career in the business of basketball and I believe Appalachian State University is the ideal university to prepare me for this.

Located in the heart of Omaha, NE, Mercy High School is alive with the spirit of Catherine McAuley, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy. I have been blessed with the opportunity to teach in an environment so rich in history and tradition. Although she died in 1841, Mother McAuley’s legacy lives on through our mission: “Mercy High School is a diverse educational community, founded by the Sisters of Mercy, focusing on academic excellence and inspiring young girls to become confident women of Mercy who embody faith, knowledge and compassionate service” (About Mercy, 2015). These three pillars of a Mercy education encompass her life’s work.

Picking to attend a Community college for me is the best choice that I picked for my education. Community colleges provide a great service to students in many more ways other than just education. They help students who are unsure what they want to do or are unable to attend a four year university. Community Colleges also provide continuing education even after they have gotten a degree and a job.
I’ve always had a wide range of interests, but I’ve never had one subject that I knew I wanted to pursue. With such a broad and unique set of courses and majors offered, along with having an advisor to guide me through my decision, I know that at the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences I can take the time to experiment with different fields and find the program for me. Northwestern will broaden my worldview and equip me with the critical thinking I need to succeed. I look forward to the opportunity to discover my passion while gaining an education at such a prestigious, top-ranked university. The liberal arts curriculum will prepare me with a well-rounded education to move forward into the career of my choice with confidence.
NYU has delivered solace to my life over the past years. When thinking about NYU, I receive the upmost amount of aspiration. I dream to prosper there; I dream to grow there: academically and spiritually. This school is beyond a cinch for me; this is a struggle, both internal and external, that I am hoping to conquer. I have worked extremely hard during my high school years to provide myself with a strong framework to enable myself to prosper in my future endeavors.
