What a confusing and complex thing “love” is, how it is so easy and yet so difficult to fully understand and wrap our minds around. It is both an action, and an essence; It is omnipresent, and it never ceases, even after our souls have been long released from this realm of physical existence, love in itself never vanishes. Love is both a blessing and a curse if one truly thinks about it. The anguish and pain of coming to love someone, only knowing that someday they will, or could no longer be alongside you, but up in the heavens above. The pain, the sorrow one feels at the mere thought of it alone wrenches our heart’s to the brim with dread and grief. On the other end of the scale, love is something that brings immense joy to one’s life, and …show more content…
Even as I write this, one particular person comes to my mind. It is a woman who has faced many of life’s hardships, a woman who has gone through unspeakable pain and anguish; A woman that was knocked to the ground one too many only to get back up time and time again. Her radiance, as gentle as a lamp, yet as sharp as a razor. This woman is my mother, someone I am proud to call my best friend. She is the person I respect and adore the most in this world. I respect her not only for her kind heart, perseverance, and sage wisdom, but I also respect the immense love and respect she shows to me, herself, and others. She is a person who does not judge, and does not envy. She praises and smiles at others success, and feels saddened by one’s failures. She is what I would consider the embodiment of genuine goodness, acceptance, and love. All that is good in this sometimes cruel …show more content…
She looks back at me and smiles with nothing but warmth. This warmth, her love, envelops both my heart and soul. I smile back with just as much warmth. It is unspoken, for there are no words to be said. She looks at my brother with just as much adoration, but he is too aloof to take notice. My brother, my sweet brother. So innocent in a way, but at the same time so distant and aloof. Despite this, and despite our occasional trivial arguments that most siblings do, and despite his many flaws, I still care for and love him very much, and I know he cares for me just as much, even if he would most likely never admit it.
The inside jokes we tell one another, the many nights sitting, watching our television shows together. I smile inwardly when he howls in laughter, his breath wheezing and face turning cherry-red from the laughter. I laugh too, but not at the show, but at the fact of how easily amused he is. It is moments like this, between me and my brother, that makes me realize how important he is to our family, and how much I love him. I have only told him “Love you” maybe once in my whole entire life, but I feel that he knows how much he is cherished, by both myself and my
Although it can be confusing to a lot of people, in its truest form, love is ultimately
They say love is pure, sweet, and something that you can never forget. You feel as if your whole world was turned upside down, and you seem to do things so foolish because of it. It is the greatest feeling the universe gives you. Although they refuse to tell you of the longing, terror, or the pain of it. It is nothing other than a burden, a nightmare which I wish to awaken from.
She is compassionate towards people even though there is nothing to look forward to. Even in the worst circumstances a human can endure, she relies on her faith and never gives
She had no reason to help us that one day in church; she did it purely out of the love in her heart. She was very generous. She had a son who claimed to be disabled and refused to work. She never kicked him out was and she worked until her 80’s to support the two of them. She was very religious so she always had hope for tomorrow’s world.
This statement is accurate because love can bring people thrill and excitement, but can inflict pain as well. Lastly, Ackerman explains that there are many categories of love just as there are many kinds of intoxicants. She declares that love “isn’t monotone or uniform” and is not limited to the typical affection between man and woman. In fact, love includes the fondness between child and parent or the passion an athlete has for a certain
However, love does not just display itself outright for you to easily find. If love was not a challenge to achieve, it would not be so special. After deciphering Sappho’s poetry, I have determined that love has the ability to cripple even the strongest people. You can crave someone so much, and that person could be the one to never crave you in return. Love – when you find it – should be something so simple that it is equivalent to breathing.
Being in love, for most, is defined as an unimaginative feeling that is meant to cause utter happiness. Although being in love is expected to be seen as a positive, there are some people who are unlucky and have to face the reality that life isn’t always filled with what’s expected. There will always be a chance that one day the happiness could be taken away in the blink of an eye. Then, what’s left is a place of emptiness that eventually is filled with darkness and pain. This new darkness consumes one’s self, just as it did for the narrator in “the Raven” by Edgar Allen Poe.
The Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu once said “Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.” (Lao Tzu), for it is true: love is an incredibly powerful thing with many gifts to offer. The novel The Time Traveller’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger, the film The Fault in Our Stars by Josh Boone, and the epic poem The Odyssey by Homer all contain the topic of love, which is shown to bring peace to a turbulent environment, encourage perseverance, and elicit commitment throughout all of its instances. Consequently, a person’s situation, personality, and outlook on life are improved when they bring love into their lives.
What is Love? If you were to search it up you get the vague definition which reads: an intense feeling of deep affection. But it’s so much more, it has so many different meanings to people. Even wrong meanings that people associate it with. Love comes in many different forms, such as: friendship, family, and partnership.
Even you can’t write love down in words, it ties into the search of god through love is necessary to survive.
In an everyday life, humans are surrounded by people who may love someone, may be their kids, their animals, or even their wife. Love is one of the most powerful words to say to someone, because the word love is something that is not made up by two random strangers, it is an unbreakable bond that two may share and live happily with each other. Love is an amazing experience to be in. Love is inevitable.
She’s a fighter through every battle she goes through, she fights for what she believes in and never worry of others opinion about it. For an example, if she supports or believes in something someone else doesn’t agree to, it doesn’t affect her at all, in fact it gives her more of a reason to embrace her belief. She isn’t afraid to express herself and allow others to know how she feels and she’ll speak up about something she doesn’t approve of or support. She’s humble in every way that she can be, meaning she permits nothing to interfere with her accomplishments, goals or dreams. She doesn’t let others define who she is as a person, she defines herself and doesn’t let anyone try and change that because she is full of self-love.
Love: An endless supply of happiness and dopamine I’ll never forget the time I met my girlfriend. I was at my best friend’s birthday party, when a tall beautiful girl with wavy brown hair and the clearest complexion, her face full of happiness and joy. The moment I saw her, was the moment I knew that I had powerful feelings for her. It was amazing actually…feelings began to swell in brain, lust, compassion, affection, adoration, racing through my mind. That would be the day that I would began to fall for Alex.
Some say love is like a rose, and just like every rose, love is beautiful. But don’t forget every rose has it's thorns. Love can be unforgiving and ruthless, but at the end of the day it should be about spending time with the one person you admire most. Some people spend their whole life looking for what they seemingly think the definition of love is but they never find what they are looking for. On April 9th, 2015, I found what some people don’t find in a lifetime.
My mom, my sweet, gentle mom. My mom is like my sister, we love to talk about juicy stuff and love to share with each other what we did during the day. I don 't like to imagine myself without her because she is basically my life. She is caring and kind and always have a smile on her face when she sees me. When I say her name I get a picture of her in my mind.
