The first solution to the problem of texting and driving is better knowledge about how it can be prevented before it even happens. Certain tools that could help would be videos, simulators, and phone tech assistance. There could be videos of someone who chose to use their phone while driving and the precautions of her actions and how they have greatly affected her life in the future. Another solution to the scary situation of texting and driving is bigger and hardened consequences if the law is broken. Sometimes a warning is just not enough for you to learn from your mistakes. Ensuring that you are given a harsher consequence makes you not want to commit texting and driving ever again. For example, high ticket fines in Illinois the first offenses are set at $75. For subsequent violations the fines are $100, $125 and $150. In my opinion, there should be not reduced fee for the first time because, if you didn 't have to pay so much the first time why not do it again.
