A counselor who has greatly helped me throughout high school isn’t technically a counselor at all. At south Summit High School, she holds the title of “ETS Advisor”, but she has far outreached the scope of her responsibilities and continues to help the students of South Summit exponentially. I first met Ms. Regan as I began my seventh grade year. She was the advisor for a program called Educational Talent Search, which I had just entered. Honestly, the first memories that I have of her are ones of intimidation. There was something about the way she held herself, the way she walked, the way she talked. She was confident and authoritative. As the years have passed and I have continued on in the ETS program, those feelings of intimidation have …show more content…
She is the advisor for our School’s interact club, a service club based on making a difference in our school, in the community, and on an international level. I am the president of the interact club this year, and I wouldn’t be able to fulfill my role without her guidance. She is always on top of things and reminding me of when things need to be done. If that wasn’t enough, she even lets me come in to her office and she gives me advice about all of my applications for schools and for scholarships. She also makes me aware of scholarship opportunities when she thinks the specific scholarship applies to me. This shows me that she is always trying to be aware of the student’s circumstances and is very thoughtful of them. Now, all of these things that she does are great. They really are. But those aren’t the main reasons why Ms. Regan has been able to make such a difference in my life. The fact is that Ms. Regan is a very well-rounded, kind, generous, and thoughtful person. She shows her love for the students and she does so with honesty and a sense of humor. I’ve observed that she is always giving her time to others, even when she doesn’t have time for herself. So, in the end, she has done much more than help me through high school. She has helped me learn what it really means to be a good
She is my drum major because no matter her position or title she still has helped people in need of something. Not for glory but just for the sake of creating a better community. I think that my Mentor was born with the characteristics of selfless service, because even when she had her child she was still
She has inspired me to take on a similar role leading young girls. I am now in the process of assembling a mentoring program for teen girls called “WITHIN”. This is an acrostic for Worthy, Intelligent, Talented, Healthy, Inspirational, Notable. The motto is “God is W.I.T.H.I.N. her She Will Not Fail”.
She works hard to ensure that the needs of her children are met and that her
She made me realize that everyone has a story to tell, and how a simple compliment can go a long way. Danaka has given me a piece of her heart, so I could open mine, and pass it on. My definition of a role model is my sister,
For example, sometimes when I don't understand a question, most of the time she knows the answer. It's crazy sometimes the things that she knows saying that she's a German teacher. I'm glad she knows all these things because it is extremely helpful for me on homework. I am very thankful for this because it gets me better grades on
Without her I would not be who I am today. I would not be a swimmer. And swimming is something I can 't imagine my life without. I might not be as accepting of others. Real talk swimmers are a pretty interesting group with even more interesting quirks.
For example she encouraged me to try out for cross country. I wasn’t going to do it, but she boosted my confidence. I’m thankful she did that. Now I’m getting better and better at doing the mile. She cheered me when I was playing against another person in a game.
She is constantly explaining a fault in something and after she explains it you feel irritated. She makes you question why things like discrimination against language is a thing that happens because it's so stupid. When she talks about tests in English you also feel a little irritated that some questions are basically open-ended, but there is only a certain type of right answer. When she talks about the struggle of learning English as a second language you start to feel sympathy towards people who do because we know how challenging learning English is when learning it as a first language, but knowing how hard it would be to learn as a second language is something that we can't do and she shines a light on
She taught me to take what I had and multiply it, so that I could give back to the community that worked so hard to give to me. The combination of trying to giving back to my community and the joy I receive from working with kids, had led me into the career if teaching. Teaching allows me to give chances to kids to make the world a more vibrant and rewarding place. I want to work with the children that normally wouldn’t be given a second look; those with an imagination to save the world. I believe that the world most important resource is their future generations.
She is also a kind and helpful person she helps me on homework if I need it. She
She has determination, courage, and seriousness to herself that I have gained from her by following her advice that she gave me. When I was young, my mother taught me not to give up in life at all. She keeps saying that motto repeatedly to me throughout my whole entire life when I got stuck on the difficult situation in life. I decide to take her advice, and it helps a lot with the choices
She made everyone felt cared for no matter what you’ve been
I look up her as she is my idol and will forever be my idol. By letting these four people influence me, I have been told by many peers and adults that I am very respectful, hardworking, talented, and straightforward with my education. I will enhance the values of Towson University by bringing positivity to the campus, providing a helping hand to others, and by doing extracurricular activities. Throughout my high school career, I’ve been positive, respecting my fellow peers and teachers, putting a smile on their faces and making the place a enjoyable place to be. I have been nominated by my school’s athletic director to be a Peer
Whenever she speaks, I am in awe. Her intellect, her confidence, and her expertise in research is something to look up to. I can feel the warmth of her heart and the sincerity of her encouragements that we can pursue our study. We really need encouragements nowadays and she didn 't
