In the world of American literature, Emily Dickinson is looked up to as one of the most renowned American authors of time. Instead of writing poetry in the familiar style and form of the olden days, she chose to write with different types of poetry forms and syntaxes. Because of that, many people recognize her for have opened a new path of poetry heading towards the twentieth century. However, she was not known and praised for her works until after her death. On December 10th 1830, Emily Dickinson was born as the second child of the three Dickinson children. She relied and had close relationships with both her older and younger siblings. The Dickinson family were already a well-known family in society. They played a significant role by have founded many of the educational institutes and helped with the developments of Amherst. Their house, the Homestead, was used for a meeting place when having important guests. Later on, because of Edward Dickinson’s political career, a house on North Pleasant Street became their new home. Emily Dickinson wrote about mainly the things she was inspired by:death, lonliness, and the sufferings of loss. As she reached her thirties, she rarely left her house and shut herself out of society gradually more and more. The exact reason of her seclusion is unknown but her responsibilities of her sick mother took a part in it as well. Although Dickinson had taken a step away from society, she still remained in contact and entertained a few of her close friends and aquaintances with her poetry. One of Emily Dickinson’s earliest influences include a family friend named Benjamin Franklin Newton. He was one of the first people who recognized Emily’s gift in poetry and encouraged her to
