Slavery was a life changing, horrific, and difficult time for the African Americans. They went through several trials daily. They came to America in 1619. Slavery became popular in the American colonies during the 18th century when slavery began to become well known and taken for granted. Slaves worked on tobacco,rice,cotton, and indigo plantations. It was from there that slavery was known to every colony.
Slavery began in 1619. From six to seven billion African Americans were taken into slavery by the 18th century. The idea of slavery began in Europe. The Europeans saw African Americans as an easy origin for a servant. A Dutch ship had brought in more slaves and slavery was one of the most popular systems known in the American colonies. Therefore, slavery began.

Their beds were thin blankets,if even they owned such a thing. Many had lack of sleep from the working hours of all day and all night. Many of their daily jobs or chores include,cooking, washing, fielding, and mending.
