College Isn 't The Only Answer If anyone has ever went to high school, then they have heard about college. Everyone has a different point of view on the idea of college. Part of it depends on how someone was raised. If a person’s parent or guardian drilled the idea of college into your head, or if they told you ‘do what you want’ or ‘I don 't care’, or ‘You’re not going’. While college is great, there are other means of education.The value of college is a low because there are people who do not qualify for a college education, and also because there are other ways of post-secondary education other than college. College is not valuable because many people will not make it into a 2 or 4-year college, much less graduate from one. So yes, college is a low value. But at the same time, numerous people believe that the value of college is kind of high because it improves certain aspects of their lives. For instance, in the short video 5 Ways Ed Pays it is mentioned that college graduates are less likely to be obese, 50% more likely to exercise, 66% more likely to read to their kids and take them to a live show, half as likely to be unemployed, and earn an average of 22k more per year than high school graduates. This is all true, but vocational schools also teaches you skills that you need in life and you move around a lot. Plus you still get paid and you do not have to pay back any student loans like some college graduates. College is useful to those who want a job as a lawyer or doctor. Those who want to be a plumber or electrician will benefit more from job training than getting a degree that they need to

" The concept of going to college is an important subject in most people's lives. Family members and teachers have stressed the importance of furthering your education after high school for almost your whole educational career. The one group that outweighs all the others is the college graduates proving that with a college degree unemployment is less likely to befriend people who do pursue college. Some people might say that there are loads of jobs that do not require a college degree, especially in this time and age.

There is an ample amount of information that leads people to believe that college is a great choice. In Source F, it is shown that, “Adults who graduated from a four-year college believe that, on average, they are earning $20,000 more a year as a result of having gotten that degree. Adults who did not attend college believe that, on average they are earning $20,000 a year less as a result.” Also, provided in Source F, “...55% say it [college] was very useful in helping them prepare for a job or career.” While these statistics are true, the negatives still outweigh the positives.
So in my opinion I think college is worth it because there are so many Benefits and only one main con which is college debt. Health Insurance is very important and college graduates had 70% access to employer health and high schoolers have 50 percent to health employer insurance and college graduates have a 70% to retirement plans. A lot of college students don 't graduate and waste there money and time and the government 's money and 25% of students who enroll don 't come back the second year.
College is necessary because it helps create a more educated workforce for America and gets and more people into STEM and careers they really love. It may be expensive but it pays off. Recent studies on adults who didn’t attend college show that ”Two-thirds of those who do not end up enrolling college believed during high school that college was in their futures, but realities like the high price of college often impeded this goal”(Rebecca Klein). In other words tuition costs, low GPAs, and the fear of college being to difficult, petrifies high school seniors into not even applying for colleges. Therefore colleges would benefit those scared to apply by lowering tuition costs and/or lowering standards. Regardless of your excuses to not go to college, you should want to better yourself and in doing that find college alternatives. In order to have a higher paying job, have your dream career, and have more job opportunities ,you should attend a college that you would benefit from.
