How to Achieve Success The term of success appears frequently in public notice and it spurs extensive interests in public. Everybody wants to achieve success, but the fact is that not everyone can make it even though he or she has tried his or her best. Then it comes to a question - how to make it? Does it depend on opportunity or any other features? Different people have different opinions. Some people argue that opportunity is the most important factor to achieve success. Once somebody has an opportunity, then he or she will easily achieve success. Some other people believe that to achieve success depends on people themselves. In their opinion, achieving success is a personal thing, so it's okay to work very hard without considering other features. I don't agree with either of these two opinions, however, I believe that to achieve success needs a full preparation including a final goal, confidence, features such as perseverance and hard-working, instead of focusing on opportunity only or people themselves. I strongly believe that these well-preparation pave the way to achieve success, and those people who with good features will achieve success sooner or later. As we all know, the way to success is full of obstacles and difficulties, and you need to try your best to handle these problems and persist achieving final goals. There are many examples such as Thomas Edison, one of the greatest scientists in the world, spent several decades inventing the battery. Though he failed so many times, he never gave up but persisted testing for thousands of times, and finally he succeeded in inventing the battery. However, if he gave up when he faced problems, we cannot enjoy the benefits of the battery as so early. What makes him a giant in the invention field is that his
Success is something you attract by the person you become. For things to improve, you have to improve. For things to get better, you have to get better. For things to change, you have to change. When you change, everything changes for you.”
When you think of success what comes to mind? In sports it’s making it to the pros. In business it’s making your first million. In high school it can be as simple as acing that test you studied for all night. No matter what profession you are in, success is the desired goal.
This ultimately sets you up for success. All in all, success is earned with hard work and taking advantage of all
Success is something that every person looks at differently and in America it is something that is strived for every step of the way by most typical people. The idea of success is planted in our heads at a very early age and is embedded in our culture as a part of the American Dream. Ways that success is approached are different depending on what drives a person, whether it's competitiveness or a strive for greatness. A competitive approach to success is described in Margaret Mead's essay The Egalitarian Error when she writes, "For many Americans, the concept of success is a source of confusion. As a people, we Americans greatly celebrate and admire the one who gets the highest grades, the one voted most attractive or most likely to succeed.
Due to society, success is mostly viewed as a physical accomplishment. Ivan Chino, National Guard Soldier/NIU graduate, is not only a successful person because of his accomplishments, but more over his work ethic. When asked what makes a person successful, Chino replied, “The road with reaching success comes with many obstacles, but it also involves setting a new bar to achieve a higher form of success.” Clearly, Chino’s view of success is to constantly set high goals, despite the obstacles that come along with them. The reason being is to never settle and strive for a higher level.
Ultimately, it's important to strive towards achieving the things you desire. Success often comes to those who put in the effort and work toward their purpose. In
This is important because it explains why the hardest workers aren’t always the most successful. They were never given an opportunity to succeed. When analyzing Bill Joy’s road to success, Gladwell says, “But before he could become an expert, someone had to give him the opportunity to learn how to be an expert. ”(Gladwell 46) This quote reveals how Gladwell believes success can be achieved.
There are many definitions of success among the general public. To most people, it means having a good life, a good family, and lots of money. Although the definition might vary, all success involves one important element hard work. The value and importance of hard work has been proven over and over again in numerous history and literature.
Gladwell’s Argument in Outliers Success is a concept that is constantly altered and has a different meaning from person to person. The stereotypical definition of success would be someone who has a high-paying job or is in the upper-class. Malcolm Gladwell, the author of Outliers: The Story of Success, approaches the concept of success in a different and unique way. Gladwell discusses how opportunities, cultural legacy, and hard work all coincide with each other to produce real success. He uses mostly logic and multiple unrelated anecdotes to support and provide evidence for his statements.
Support: Eric Thomas, the author of the book ‘The Secret to Success’, once said about success that whatever paths taking us to success, at some point we all have to go through the boulevard of hard work. Example: If you want to achieve success, hard work and dedication are the second element after explicit plans. In addition, we had better take responsibility for our tasks. None can help us to fulfil our targets but ourselves, hence learning to bear responsibility is very essential.
What does success mean to me? It means accomplishing things in life and reaching your goals. Everyone has a different view of what success actually is. Success also means setting a goal and reaching it in a time frame you set for yourself. For example I believe finishing college and gaining a career in a field you love is being successful because it is a goal that can be achieved.
In other words, the true definition of success depends on the person and their situation and the goals they set for themselves. In this paper there will be scenarios from a child’s, teenager’s, and an adult’s person point of view.
Although success can be represented by mountains of wealth and material belongings, it is very unwise to define every single aspect of success by such a narrow perspective. As a matter of fact, that can be considered as just being plain ignorant! Yes, wealth can be a measure of success, but there is more to success than an individual’s immense collection of finest jewelleries or a fleet of the most expensive cars. This is because wealth can never enable us to buy or rent some very critical objects in our life such as the warmth and care of our loved ones, the everlasting friendship or even the bottomless intellect of a wise person. Thus, we can conclude from my standpoint that wealth is not the best measure of
Do whatever it takes so you can reach what you want. A way you can reach your goal is by believing in yourself that you can do the best that you can do. Another way I think being successful is having a lot of money. But just because you have a huge amount of money doesn’t mean you are
It’s impossible to lead a life devoid of disasters and set backs. Most of the world’s successful people have had times when they’ve had good reason to consider themselves to be failures. That was the experience of William James, who said: ‘Take the happiest man, the one most envied in the world, and in nine cases out of ten his inmost consciousness is one of failure.’ It isn’t a sin to fail; the real crime is to a failure to attempt. There was an American who failed in business in ’31 and was defeated in politics the following year.
