Tyonajanegen was part of the Oneida tribe. The Oneida were religious people that were a part of the Iroquois Confederacy. She was also married to a very important man, Han Yerry. Yerry was born in the Oneida tribe, but he was also part German and Mohawk descent. Yerry was the chief warrior of the wolf clan, one of the several branches of the Oneida. The wolf clan, known as the pathfinders, guides people in the way their Creator wants them to. She is a brave warrior because she fought in the Battle of Oriskany, was messenger for rebels, and was the first Indian woman to fight for America. First, she fought tirelessly in the Battle of Oriskany. The battle was between the British and America/Oneida. It was at this point that the Oneida became known as the first allies, because they were the first to take the side of America in the Revolutionary War. The Battle of Oriskany took place in New York by the creek of Oriskany, on August 6, 1777. Tyonajanegen rode into the battle on a horse with two pistols. She fought for six bloody hours next to her husband, Yerry, and son, Cornelius. When Yerry was shot in the wrist with a musket ball, Tyonajanegen had to reload his gun so he could keep fighting. In the Battle of Saratoga she played a very significant role. The Battle of Saratoga was a turning point in the war. In the Battle of Saratoga the British surprised the Americans and trapped them in the middle of the night. For eighteen days the Americans had to fight off the British. Tyonajanegen played a significant role in this because the Americans had no communication to the other campsites. The Siege of Yorktown, or Battle of Yorktown, was the last major land battle of the American Revolutionary War. The Americans, led by General Washington, allied with the French, led by General Rochambeau, defeated the British who were led by General Cornwallis. This conflict, which took place in Yorktown, Virginia in the fall of 1781, was an American victory after they forced the surrender of General Cornwallis. His surrender at Yorktown was one of the greatest contributing factors that prompted Great Britain to negotiate a resolution to ending the war. The British Army under the control of General Cornwallis arrived at the Yorktown port along the Chesapeake Bay in June of 1781.

After the unsuccessful revival of the Second Great Awakening in the U.S. about 40 utopian communities were established. Most of these communities were to be spiritual communities except for one, but most of these communities were attempting to create the kingdom of God on earth. The state of New York was home to many of these experiments and cults. Of all of the utopian communities, Oneida was the most successful.

The migrants belonged to either of two distinct families: Indian or Inuit. They resembled each other in the colour of their skin which ranged from brown to yellow but not red. The First Nations owed their allegiance to their family, their band, their village, their tribe and in the case of several tribes, their confederacy. The Hopi Indians were considered as a sub tribe for the Pueblo Indians "Hopi" is a reflected word of the original term Hopi Toh-Shi-nu-mu, which means the “peaceful people." or the “Peaceful Little Ones” are a well-known Indian Nation in Northern Arizona. The Hopis have also been mentioned to as the Moqui, based on what the Spanish called them. The Hopi reservation is surrounded by two and a half million acres in northeastern Arizona on the east side of the Grand Canyon near the Four Corners. The Hopis tribe is very quiet and peaceful tribe located at in the center of the Navajo Nation.

The Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin is located in Oneida, Wisconsin. The Oneida Reservation was once approximately 65,000 acres. As of June of 2013, the Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin owns 25,042 acres. Of these 25,042 acres there are over 10,000 tillable acres of which Oneida Farms rents 4,000 acres. The left over 6,000 acres are rented out as well as used by conservation or environmental programs.
All humans mourn their dead, but our ways of doing so can vary. Some even took it as far as eating the brains of family members that have passed away. Deep in New Guinea the, Fore tribe had a burial ritual that allowed them to eat brains. Women and children handled and prepared the brain for consumption.

The Battle of Saratoga in September and October of 1777 is the turning point of the Revolutionary War because the French joined with allies, British troops surrendered their arms, and the Patriots had crucial victories. It was a victory for the Patriots in the American Revolution and is the most decisive battles in history. The Battle began as a plan by the British to control New York and isolate New England from the Southern colonies and put an end to the Revolution. Which ended as an opportunity for the Patriots.
The differences between light and dark, good and bad, are blurred in the Iroquois Creation Story. The narrator captured two different views in this story, blurring the line between what is considered right and wrong. The Iroquois Creation Story does not have just the black and white, but also the gray areas as well. It makes readers question what is really good and what is bad. The overall use of light elements gives the story a light feel, but also has a dark undertone when looked at closely.
