1:3-6). The limitation also serve to further God’s work in developing spiritual maturity. The only way to gain spiritual maturity is to go through difficult life events and learn from them. In James 5, there is a section that mentions that the prayer of faith might make the person well if God would allow it. Just before this section, it was about being patience in suffering. Suffering is a crucial part of life and it remains part of the individual memory. There is a relationship between healing and suffering that they are paradoxical companions, not mutually exclusive
Belief The BSN program at CNMU is established on the belief that nursing is a harmonious science that is constructed on the discipline of knowledge and caring. Our philosophy of nursing articulates the lifelong transformative process of nursing knowledge, nursing skills, and personal values (ENMU, 2015). Curriculum is technology based due to the ever-changing health care delivery systems and societal needs.
L.M. affiliates herself with Christian beliefs, she attends church regularly and describes her faith as a “saving grace through very trying times.” Both family members seek and are treated with Western medicine practices and they are both currently free of any diseases and/or ailments. “Chronically-ill Christians who do not believe that the Lord heals today should examine their participation in the Lord’s Supper as to why they remain sick.” (p. 113) As a note, 1 Corinthians 11:29 is one of my favorite passages dealing with health and healing. Paul says that lack of discernment of the Lord’s body is cause for physical weakness, sickness, and death (sleep). The Lord’s Supper reminds us of the gospel that Jesus preached is to heal the sick and save their souls.
We all at one time or another may be poor in spirit, or in mourning, or become meek spiritually, or we may hunger and thirst for righteousness. Each of the blessings addresses a spiritual issue which should direct our daily lives. God knows our struggles and He will provide a way for us to endure them; and become even stronger if we believe on Jesus and if we put our trust in

SINGAPORE BIBLE COLLEGE Book Reflection: The Wounded Healer by Henri J. M. Nouwen Submitted to Esther Tan CO502 – Theory and Practice in Counseling by Shongzan Chanlila Khayi Mail Box # 120 SINGAPORE 21 August, 2013 The Wounded Healer by Henri J.M. Nouwen is one such book which is simple yet very insightful, solemn yet very challenging. He stirs up our interest as he deals with the biggest concern of our modern day leaders in our churches and society – the struggle with our weaknesses. And I believe his philosophy goes much deeper than what is actually written.
This contrasts with the one-on-one, doctor-patient relationship emphasized in conventional Western medicine. The specific healing practices utilized in Native American healing differ from tribe to tribe and from healer to healer. They also depend on the patient and the nature of the ailment. No matter what the tribe, however, the varying causes of disease are always considered, including a person's past deeds, their state of mind and emotions, and whether they are in or out of harmony with the spirit
Suffering what a word, it must be apart of our everyday life, especially in war. “Human suffering anywhere concerns men and women everywhere”(Wiesel). Within a world that has endured so much tragedy, and so many crippling hardships, people are often forced to consider how exactly they are going to handle the adversity that they are faced with. Do they run at it head on and recklessly attempt to deal with it? Do they lose faith with their religion and their God? Or do they simply pray, and hope that amongst all of their misery that something good will come of it and a light will be found in the end? Those are the hard decisions that people are forced to make on the daily, and maybe the questions that we have, or the lack of faith we endure is what makes us stronger at the end of the day.

“The deep truth is that our human suffering need not be an obstacle to the joy and peace we so desire, but can become, instead, the means to it. The great secret of the spiritual life, the life of the Beloved Sons and daughters of God, is that everything we live, be it gladness or sadness, joy or pain, health or illness, can all be part of the journey toward the full realization of our humanity” Henri
I personally think that suffering helps us to notice and appreciate true happiness. If we did not feel pain, we would not realize how great life is. Aristotle implies we are able to control our happiness in this way. Once we have experienced suffering we know it eventually passes and life carries
