These are all examples of transcendentalism and people don 't even realize it. For example my family and I went to San Francisco and went to the Redwoods where respect for nature was so strong because I was amazed at how cool the trees were and how long they have been there. In Dead Poets’ Society there is a group of young men in Mr. Keating’s class who show the traits of transcendentalism under the guide of Mr. Keating. Personally I think that people are transcendentalist and that people use the traits everyday of their lives but they don 't even realize it. I feel that their are some people in the world who love transcendentalism and try to live their lives by the traits but then other people don 't even realize what it is but still use it in everyday life. Although some might think it is easy to just go drop everything and live in the wild, it is not possible to live a transcendental life in modern day America. Most of the pillars of transcendentalism are not possible because of the media and the illusion of “perfect.” However, a few of the pillars are easy to live out like self-reliance and understanding the importance of nature. In sum, it is nearly impossible to live a transcendental life in modern day America with no strings attached.
You may ask why it is important to compare the ideas and styles of different texts. I believe that it is important to see how other people view things. Writing is an easy way for people to say how they see things and how they think things will be for our future. Talking about nature, technology, and the author 's tone are just a few way that the style can be different. Transcendentalism is commonly seen everywhere. It can be seen in pieces of literature, in plays like The Night Thoreau Spent In Jail, and even in speeches from famous leaders like “ A Time for Choosing” by Ronald Reagan. Transcendentalism is a different way of thinking in which you focus on yourself rather than society. As a transcendentalist, you focus on simplifying your life, being confident in yourself, and not conforming or listening to society. You focus on the importance of nature and believe in a higher power.
Everyone has their own set of views of the world. However, sometimes these are not individual views; instead, they are imposed upon people who are forced to accept them. Opinions like these are against the transcendental point of view. Transcendentalist finds the importance of finding one's own truth or judgments despite it possibly being in the minority. There have been many famous transcendentalist writers, such as Henry David Thoreau, and Ralph Waldo Emerson, who have written many essays, and books about their views and opinions.
"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.”- Henry David Thoreau. Transcendentalism is an American philosophy that revolves around self-reliance and independence, commonly in nature, a Transcendentalist wants to find the true meaning in life. However, I believe that I am not a Transcendentalist, but simply an adventurer.
The Dead Poets Society portrays the views of transcendentalism seamlessly into movie through the characters Neil Perry, Todd Anderson, and Mr. Keating. These characters represent the ideals of transcendentalism by vicariously demonstrating the teachings of Emerson, Thoreau, and Whitman, who are all transcendentalists that practice self through nature and non-conformity. Throughout the movie, all three characters represent transcendentalism, but express the ideals in their own way. Neil Perry exhibits his true human self in the scene where he opens the window and strips down of his clothes before killing himself. Whitman, a poet who practices self through nature utters, “[He] will go to the bank by the wood and become undisguised and naked.”
Transcendentalism is a highly competitive world of the market revolution which strongly encouraged the identification of American freedom without any restraints on people who were seeking financial improvement and personal development. It was a world in which regional developments along with the market revolution crushed traditional and social borders. For example moving from one place to another was a common characteristic of the American life. Transcendentalism believed in individual judgment over existing social traditions and institutions.
No, Mr Keating never told the boys to start the Dead Poet Society, or to be reckless, furthermore he only told the boys to be their own person, and pursue their goals, nevertheless Mr Keating did give them the idea of the Dead Poet Society, but it was not meant to cause trouble, and instead, for the boys to find their own voice. Mr Keating tried to show his students the wonders of transcendentalism, and that encouraged the boys to have their own voice, instead of being under jurisdiction their whole life. Is Mr Keating responsible for Neil's death? Absolutely not, he taught Neil to follow his own path before it is too late, and to have his own voice, nevertheless Neil joined the play, “A Midsummer Night's Dream”, and having the lead role was the happiest moment of his life, however his father was very unsupportive, therefore scolded him on the way home, furthermore Neil’s father said he would take him out the school, and place him in military

Transcendentalism is the belief that man is inherently good, is an independent thinker, and goes out into nature to get in touch with himself. Generally, man has good intentions and intends no harm unto others. In addition, man does not need society to give him and develop his thoughts, as he already has them within. To help bring out these already installed beliefs, man has the desire to go out into nature to get in touch with himself and find deeper notions within. In Ralph Waldo Emerson’s writings “Self Reliance” and “American Scholar”, he writes about how being a true individual means that one must have his own beliefs, and not copy someone else’s ideas.
