Macbeth was written by Shakespeare, one of the greatest writers of all time. Macbeth's story is about a nice normal man that turns into straight evil by manipulation and his horrible, despicable,insane wife. If you haven’t read Macbeth then these next few sentences will help you understand. Manipulation is what makes Macbeth the story that it is. The wife and the three witches are the reason for all the murders that Macbeth has done is because of them. Putting ideas and thoughts in his head pushed of the edge. The witches start manipulating before the race even starts, you're only a few pages in and bame there already ruining this man's mental state. In the text it says,”All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Cawdor!" "All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter!" (Act I, iii, line LIII). This quote shows that the witches told Macbeth that he will be king when the next king dies. This gives Macbeth and his wife an idea that if we kill him then he will be king. In act III Macbeth starts seeing children in a line walking right to him. The witches are trying to scare him with the truth. In the text it says,”They hailed him father to a line of kings. Upon my head they placed a fruitless crown.” (Act III scene i line 45).He thinks he can see all the kings in a line which is not really happening. Act IV has an even better example that makes one of the best quotes in the book. In the text it says,"Be bloody, bold, and resolute; laugh to scorn / The power of man, for none of woman born / Shall harm Macbeth" (Act IV scene IV line 81) No man who is born from a woman can defeat Macbeth, later proven true because Macduff was born by c-section, sets Macbeth up for failure by giving him false hope. In Act 1 Scene 7, Lady Macbeth labels Macbeth a coward and makes fun of his manhood by claiming he is too kind to do the job. After Macbeth objects, Lady Macbeth exclaims “When you durst do it, then you were a man” (I.vii.49-51). Using these words, Lady Macbeth brings out the competitive and sexist nature in Macbeth. Macbeth refuses to be underestimated and appear weak in front of others. Furthermore, Macbeth’s initial objection suggests his free will.

Over the course of the book Macbeth receives prophecies from multiple people, his wife tries to make him something that he is not, by getting him to kill anyone that she wants him to. Throughout the book the main character Macbeth drastically changes from being brave to being cowardly. He also changes from being loving to being greedy, and last he changes from being very trustworthy to being very untrustworthy. As a thane of Scotland, Macbeth loves and serves King Duncan even if it means his own death.
Macbeth tried to control his future by killing Duncan in order to become king; he then kills anyone who somehow knew about the murder of Duncan. Macbeth in the beginning visits the witches, who tell him that he will become king, but he has others in his way of doing so. Lady Macbeth then encourages him to do whatever he has to do in order to get Macbeth. Lady Macbeth and Macbeth then plan the murder of Macbeth, and plan to frame the killing on the guards.
Macbeth had become everything that he had ever wanted to be which was the king of Scotland and when the witches told him that someone else was going to take his crown he went to extremes to try to keep them from doing that which was eventually what lead to him dying. The witches had told Macbeth that the sons of Banquo would take his crown so he decided to have Banquo and his son killed Macbeth said, “Our fears in Banquo stick deep/ And in his royalty of nature reigns that which would be feared”(3.1.49-51). Macbeth did everything he could to protect his crown, but that is eventually what lead to his downfall and his death. He killed his best friend Banquo which was when his ambition had gone to far and was the beginning of his decline.
