The seven deadly sins became more than deadly in the Salem witch trials. Arthur Miller’s, the Crucible, reveals just how deadly they were. In the Crucible, characters allowed for their small sins to spiral out of control. This put everyone in a situation where they had to decide to accuse others or be accused. In the play, the character, Abigail Williams, is a seventeen year old orphan who is cunning and manipulating. Her sins of lust, envy, and wrath are the reasons why the Witch Trials occurred.
