Franklin Delano Roosevelt “FDR”, was the only person elected to the presidency four times. Coming from a wealthy family, he served as governor of New York and Assistant Secretary of the Navy. Through his “fireside chats” and his public appearances, he provided hope and encouragement not only to the US and our citizens but to the allies as well. Although historians argue over his approach to the Soviet Union, he knew that the allies could no more afford to see the Soviet Union, with its vast resources, fall to Germany than it could see England and France become German possessions.
Throughout the war, FDR not only inspired his fellow countrymen, but adroitly maneuvered between the demands of the allies for American intervention in particular ways. One of his great talents was his selection of competent men to assist in leading the nation as well as in generals to direct the war.

If there is one criticism that I think is pretty accurate about FDR, is the absolute lack of help he gave to Truman as the vice-president. The Great Depression was when America's economy crashed. The stock market plummeted because of bull markets and buying on margin witch intern forced banks to close their doors because they had no money to give out because a lot of the deposited money was invested in the market.

Unfortunately he was only allowed to send over money, supplies, and ships as the law prohibited him from sending soldiers. Since Roosevelt was exceedingly, exceptionally, and extraordinarily loyal and honorable man who never swayed on what he thought was right he did everything he could to aid his friends in England. Having gone to Harvard and growing his interest in politics, Roosevelt was involved in school government eventually leading to a life in politics which included being state senator and then Assistant Secretary of the Navy. The Great Depression caused a spread of distrust in the government leaving a mark on the American people along with their unwillingness to trust the government. Once President Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected in the year 1932, three years after the start of The Great Depression, there was a turn for the nation. Positively, Roosevelt introduced the fireside chats in the year 1933. When Japan began taking over China and the people of US began fearing the fascist social constructs that was spreading around the globe, FDR decided it was time that he’d intervene in the international conflict to prevent further declination of democracy across the globe. Franklin Roosevelt was an excellent speaker which is an important quality to have to be an effective leader. Roosevelt’s impeccable speaking skills were shown through his “Fireside Chats” which were broadcasts via radio where he addresses problems such as unemployment and banking which were two big issues of the time. This showed that he knew how to connect with a large audience and with the name “Fireside Chat” it showed that the citizens felt comfortable with Roosevelt and his speeches as well as the way he spoke. Franklin Roosevelt was a people's person. Citizens felt comfortable and confident in him as he was the only chief executive to be elected to more than two terms in office.
But actually, he changed citizen's life more effectively. First, he standardized money, weights, scholarships, laws, government, cultures, bureaucracies, and measures for better and convenient life for citizens. The government was well developed and very strong. Second, He also widened the roads for trading items, army and for people to visit. Which means if the trade rate increased, the economy increased too.
However, in this report we will focus on certain situations that Pres. Wilson and Pres. FDR had when making choices in WWI and in WWII. Many may ask how did the United States even get involved in such a war? Although, as it can be seen in the following sentences the reason the United States got involved in WWII is fairly simple and an honestly valuable one unlike many may say the reason the U.S. got involved in WWI.
Franklin Roosevelt was a very influential and important president in American history who had an immense impact on the American economy and social policy during the 1930’s and 40’s and throughout the future of America, he also shared some ideas with the author John Steinbeck. He idolized Theodore Roosevelt, and took great inspiration from him. He has served as president for longer than any other president in history, serving for three terms instead of the usual two that is generally accepted as the maximum amount of time that a president can serve. Teddy Roosevelt had finished his term and decided not to run again in 1908.He served a total of seven and a half years as the U.S. president. Throughout the time of being president he helped Americans with politics, society and economic problems. When Teddy left office, he had so much power he was able to pick the next president. With President Wilson as the leader of America, he would have to make sure it was for the good of all mankind and not just America itself. Throughout his address to congress, Wilson appeals at different points to being human, mankind, and the freedom of people. This is also where the idea of the United Nations comes to light, at the time called League of Nations. The idea was that America would pursue the highest wishes of mankind for the best interest of the world. Even though the speech itself gives off the message that Americans should remain neutral in the war, Woodrow’s speech also gives the idea that this means the United States has to guide other nations in restoring justice and peace to the world against Germany’s selfish interest and power hungry war acts.
