The swell window for my surf break, Zeto Point, was difficult to calculate since it is located in a bay. However, I was able to estimate the swell window from the mouth of the bay where swell would be able to enter. Zeto Point is located at latitude 51o54’16.58”N and longitude 176o33’28.39”W. Being located in a bay, there are several obstructions to wave energy, the coordinates tangent to the northern obstruction are latitude 52o04’37.96N and longitude 176o12’20.72”W, this point is located 32.068 km from the surf break with bearing 48.739o. The southern obstruction is located at latitude 51o52’08.68”N and longitude 176o21’44.53”W, this point is located 14.03 km from the surf break with breaking 106.328o. Their first store was opened in 1975 and from that point of time, they have had an unstoppable growth throughout the years as up to now. After 42 years of operations, today Zara has been able to expand themselves with 2169 stored over 82 countries all over the world. Inside the company, their organization structure is simple and employees work with high participation, so that the whole company runs efficiently. All above allow ZARA to provide products with lower price. ZARA has a flat organization structure, which emphasizes a decentralized decision making approach; The design team are relatively independent; Store managers have more responsibilities. This could be done by performing internal audits quarterly with precise accuracy so that no information is missing or misled. Once this is done, the management can work on improvements if the target was not met or aim higher if target was met with great deals. This is one way Zara could keep track of their management control with efficiency as its done quarterly. Another way where Zara could control their management is by using Concurrent control. Concurrent control takes place while an activity is in progress involving the regulation of ongoing activities that are part of the transformation process to ensure that they conform to organizational standards.
