people are in pain. In the text this is shown when it says “he saw the lean figure of General Zaroff just ahead of him Rainsford made out another figure.. It was the giant Ivan. General Zaroff was still on his but Ivan was not” (pg.53). This shows General Zaroff is selfish because he made I van go first which had killed him. Zaroff and Rainsford may both be dangerous but the fact that Zaroff is selfish and careless makes him a completely different kind of person. At the end of the story the story Rainsford and General Zaroff are different people. In the story “The Most Dangerous Game” the characters Rainsford and General Zaroff are not similar. General Zaroff is more dangerous and does not care about others as much as he cares for himself. Rainsford Is Rainsford and General Zaroffs personality so different? General Zaroff is similar to Rainsford because they are both dangerous and Zaroff show this in the story because he followed the hard traps. This is seen in the story when it says, “following the trail with sureness of a bloodhound came General Zaroff (pg.54). This shows General Zaroff is dangerous because he followed dangerous traps. Howeever, Zaroff is different from Rainsford because he is carless which he shows when he hunts humans. An example of this is seen in the story, which states “I had to invent a new animal…It must have courage, cunning, and above all it must be able to reason” (pg.48&49). This shows he’s carless because now he’s huntin humans imstead of animals and animals can’t reason. Zaroff is also different since he can be described as selfish because he does not care if is a character who would put himself in danger to save
