Macbeth Essay The play Macbeth by Shakespeare is about the journey of a man named Macbeth doing whatever he can to get power. Throughout the play Macbeth does ruthless things just to get closer to becoming king. Macbeth starts out as a kind man who fought for his king and was loyal. Although, later on in the story Macbeth becomes inconsiderate and only cares about himself. He would do terrible things to people just so he could get a higher status. Macbeth’s actions in different parts of the play display regret, greed, and sadness. Early on in the play, Macbeth shows much feeling of regret for his actions. First, Macbeth shows regret after killing Duncan. In Act 2 Scene 2 of Macbeth the play states, “ To know my deed, 'twere best not know myself” (Shakespeare 2.2.72). This quote shows how bad Macbeth thinks of himself after killing Duncan. Macbeth feels that he is a terrible person for what he did, showing regret for his actions. Secondly, after killing Duncan, Macbeth shows regret by wanting to bring him back. After the death of Duncan, Macbeth wishes he could bring him back. This shows that Macbeth thinks he should not have done what he did and

To start, Macbeth shows greed many times throughout the play, he kills just so he can get what he wants. The text states, “ Both of you know Banquo was your enemy” ( Shakespeare 3.1.113b-114a). This quote from the play shows how Macbeth lied to the murderers so that they would kill Banquo. Macbeth wanted Banquo killed because he thought that he would be a threat towards Macbeth becoming king. To add, Macbeth killed Duncan out of greed solely because he wanted to be king. In Act 2, Macbeth murders Duncan because he was king. Macbeth shows greed by doing so because he did not consider Duncan’s feelings at all and simply killed him to get closer to becoming king. In sum, Macbeth shows a lot of greed throughout the play and does not consider others’
