Does growing up tethered take away from a child’s childhood? When growing up tethered there are many benefits, but there are also some drawbacks as well. I will say that I grew up with the best of both of both views. What I mean when I say that is that I was able to grow up without it and learned to be very independent. While growing up this way I was able to easily entertain myself. The advancement in technology grew tremendously and has continued grow up with me. As the advance of technology continues to grow it changes the way that kids grow up. There is no longer an innocent childhood phase of playing outside and eating mud pies is common. Anxiety stems from social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. Social media has made it easier for teenagers to create a fake image of themselves. They are able to easily portray themselves differently. With social media it also causes kids to base their self-image on the number of likes or comments that they get after posting a status. With the rise of anxiety and the increase with technology it forms a direct relationship between the two. Since they are a direct relationship and technology just increase ones anxiety level the best way to help lower ones anxiety level is by withdrawing them from it instead of medicating yourself for it. By withdrawing yourself from the use of technology it helps lower your anxiety levels. This is the all-around better way to help with increased anxiety do to the fact that when one uses medication to help with their anxiety they alter your state of mind. It may help for a short period of time, but they will have to continue to medicate themselves. Withdrawing one’s self from technology is the all-around better way.
