With guns being banned laws will be broken more often than normal. In Chicago, the murder rate went 25% higher when guns were banned (4). When prohibition of alcohol was introduced it did not work, people still found ways around it. It didn’t work for drugs and most likely will not work for guns either (4). Prohibition in any form never seems to work, the law is always going to be the law and people are always going to break them. Hunters are very offended by these prohibition acts of gun control. Not all people use these fire arms for a defensive item but to put food on their families’ tables. Guns have always been around in today’s society; they have saved our country and made it what it is today. Taking away rights not only hurt what defense we have with them but it takes away the sport and enjoyment of those who hunt (1). Taking away from the second amendment and not having the freedom of using guns as we please or when they are in need is not fair. Guns are not meant to be banned. Background checks need to be enforced now that this has come to be such a huge ordeal. Keeping everyone and their safety in mind is very important. Communicating in ways to compromise that gun control is not for our government needs to be addressed. The second amendment needs to be set in

Gun control has been a national issue for decades, if not centuries. The founding fathers created the Second Amendment that protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms. This amendment was passed as part of the Bill of Rights and simply recognizing something that has existed or will continue to exist in the future. It was also another check on the government, if the people had no weapons to rebel against them, the government can oppress them easily and would make it easier for the government to assemble militia in a time of war. This Second Amendment doesn’t also mean that the people can’t have some measure of control in these extremely dangerous weapons.

The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution grants its’ citizens the right to keep and bear arms. Though the Second Amendment addresses the legality of owning a firearm, the morality of owning a gun is left as an unanswered question. Since the right to bear arms is not a fundamental right and guns cause harm to innocent people, it is my position that the government should endorse stricter gun control measures, particularly automatic and semiautomatic weapons. In this paper I will argue my position of abolition by examining both premises in depth, discussing the role and duty of the government, and addressing an objection to my position.
Gun control is what restricts people from buying and using guns, but these laws are not strengthened at the extent they need to be strengthened. This leads to many people getting these guns and using them to cause mass shootings all over the U.S. For example, according to the Council on Foreign Relationship, a news article that covers major world issues, in 2017, mass shootings at a music festival in Las Vegas and at a church near San Antonio have rekindled the gun control debate (“U.S. Gun Policy: Global Comparisons”). The fact that gun control is still not tightened is a huge margin and error, and still causes mass shootings as we just covered. Many people have said that we should not allow guns to be purchased, which would seem like the logical option. However, according to the same source, Council on Foreign Relationship, some states, such as Idaho, Alaska, and Kansas, have passed various laws attempting to nullify

In today’s society, one of the most alienating issues in American politics is gun control. More specifically, the issue is whether or not guns should be banned in the United States. Some people would say that guns should be banned because it would reduce crime as a whole and keep citizens safer. Alexis Clarke Professor Frank English 110 29 October 2015 Gun Control Will Not Eliminate Crime The big issue of gun control in the United States, is that many people believe that it takes away the 2nd Amendment rights, which is the right to bear arms. Citizens of the United States are promised the the right to bear arms in the Constitution, and by applying gun control laws takes away that same right. Crime is high enough in cities with very few laws pertaining to gun control, but taking guns away from people who are registered with license will not solve the problem either. Placing more limitations on gun owners, particularly responsible gun owners, will not reduce gun violence.
