Growing up in a Christian household has nurtured my walk with God throughout my life. Since a young age, I have known God as my personal savior, but my faith and trust in Him have grown over the past several years. This past summer, I took part in a worship leader internship program at our church, which provided me with the opportunity to plan and lead worship services. Participating in this program helped me grow closer to God, but it also taught me how to be a leader rather than a follower. As God continues revealing His plan for my life, I feel called to attend Verity and to pursue my passion with a career in law enforcement. I have taken part in many spiritual growth opportunities over the course of my life. The home school education my parents have blessed me with since second grade has enabled me to study hard, while learning in a Christian atmosphere. For the past nine years, I have attended Bible Study Fellowship which has helped me grow deeper in God’s word and my love for Him. Bible Study Fellowship’s rigorous …show more content…
Over the past three years, God has placed mentors in my life who have encouraged me to pursue a career in law enforcement with the Washington State Patrol. A Business Management degree will benefit me when I eventually reach a management position within the State Patrol. Ever since I heard about Verity, I have been intrigued by the intensive program in which students earn their degrees. As a highly motivated individual, the program Verity offers to prospective students fits my personality perfectly. I love the fact that Verity’s college experience not only will benefit me as a student but also will help me continue to grow in my walk with the Lord. I am delighted to grow academically while gaining a higher education, but I am also motivated to grow on a personal and spiritual
Case Study 3 Today I had my 3rd session with Michelle. Michelle is making great progress, she is currently trying to focus on what her purpose in life is, after her two children have moved out of the house and left her and her husband as empty-nester 's. Last week, Michelle and I discussed her coming up with a mission statement for her life. Michelle went home and discussed with a few friends what they thought she felt was important in her life, and their response was to make people smile and feel better about themselves. When Michelle asked her husband what he thought was important to her, he said that Michelle always had a servant’s heart and wanted to please God by helping others.
In-Depth Bible Study/ Sermon Part one 1st Timothy 3:1-13 Theme: Instruction and Qualification on Leadership I have arrived at the Greenfield Corps about six weeks now. This is my first appointment, and I have taken a lot of inventory since I got here over the month. The previous officer’s farewell brief outlined a few Corps programs, which included Bible study, women’s ministry, and Sunbeam, basketball league. It has come to my attention that the spiritual aspect of the Corps seemed to be lacking.
Many graduates often find themselves so busy they don’t have enough time to practice their faith. This book offers them advice on how to work without leaving the enjoyment of life behind. This book helps them to remember their youth and their

I interview Beth McClain who is the Women’s Minister at Henderson Hills Baptist Church (HHBC) in Edmond, Oklahoma. We discussed several topics such as her spiritual journey, education and professional training, religious beliefs and women’s ministry. Beth told me that she was 26 years old and recognized the great sinner that she was. She had a prayer time by herself and the pastor at the church she attended walked her through the process of being saved.
For most of us, black and white alike, this is one of the most formidable challenges we face in the reconstruction of our moral imagination.” Bridging that gap requires thinking outside of the box. In keeping with thinking creatively, this class assisted in stretching my thinking on diversity, which aided in how I approach leadership with the congregation. There were areas of diversity that I did not consider, such as the mindset of Millennials. I have adjusted my leadership thinking in ensuring that feeding them with the word of God is paramount, just as the Boomers, and the Gen-X crew.
Sitting in a park, writing a personal statement for admissions to a Christian College; obviously something has changed. I was afraid of that complacency and the culture that it creates, and now I’m not. As my college search continued, I realized how much I wanted to truly include Christ in my college decision. After quite a bit of prayer and seeking advice, I have decided that going to a school that affirms and integrates Christian beliefs is something that I feel like I am called to. If my desire is to grow in my faith, then going to a school that desires to encourage me in my walk makes perfect
Internship Details are still being figured out as to the when and then would need confirmation, but these are the places where I have communicated with them and they have offered to accommodate me. I would like to be able to do at least three of these internships, one during the summer, one from start of September- start of December and another start of January- end of March. However, I may do one over the summer, and one full-year, depending on how things work out. These internships are the four that have basically guaranteed that I could intern if we could work out a time/schedule that worked for both of us.
Additionally, the stream of Christianity that mostly fits the associates will be learned using books like Richard Foster’s Streams of Living Water to name a few. Second, a successful Spiritual Formation requires intentional engagement of a cross functional coalition of Church, Business and Governmental Political agencies to mutually address policies that are in opposition to the works of the Holy Spirit within the local community. In the past, for African American Christians, the Church was the economic engine that fueled the livelihood of the community. The Church, then, housed the hospital, the grocery store, entertainment, education and professional training for careers.
My family is full of devout Mormons. From my ancestors who fled to Utah in the 1850s down to my own parents, nearly all of them were sure to pass their beliefs down to their kin. Mormon culture was possibly the biggest influence on my childhood and adolescence, and my family took the religion very seriously. Early on in my life, however, I started to see the cracks in the ideology. I realized that I did not believe in the church, but kept it to myself.
I achieved a new chapter in my life and was invested within my church home. As a child, I was told that my family had a church home that was located in the area of our Philadelphia home. I was never forced by an authority figure to attend church throughout my childhood years as my older siblings. However, I always knew that an ultimate higher power controlled the design of the world. I just could not figure out how there were a higher power, why things happen in life like, why babies dies so young or why people get molested by other individuals.
I knew this would be a very big decision and it would be a life changing experience. I know he has been leading me to apply for this opportunity. He has given me faith and courage to pursue this experience even with the doubts I first had in my mind. He has showed me how strong I am and how much of a difference I can make in this summer program. I believe God is leading me to this program because of the many opportunities
By implementing these three insights into my future ministry as a priest, I know that I will be able to be a much better pastor for the people that God will entrust me with to serve and
