Final Candidate Project: Hillary Clinton Let’s face it: Clinton’s got the candidacy in the bag. She’s practically president already, in fact, we might as well just skip the whole voting process and give her the office now.
“In 1969, Hillary entered Yale Law School, where she served on the Board of Editors of Yale Law Review and Social Action, interned with children 's advocate Marian Wright Edelman,” (Black). When she graduated she joined the Children’s Defence Fund in Cambridge, and the impeachment inquiry staff that was helping the Judiciary Committee of the House of Representatives get Nixon impeached. After marrying Bill Clinton in 1975, she continued to be politically active by publishing articles about laws affecting families and children,

On drug issues, she supports the legalization of marijuana, and wants to give states more resources to deal with the “opioid epidemic” and says that “We have to move away from treating the use of drugs as a crime and instead, move it to where it belongs, as a health issue,” (“Hillary Clinton on Drugs”).
Clinton has always supported improving and increasing funding for public schools. She’s strongly supported by the National Education Association. On free college, at the NH Democratic debate in February she said “I believe in affordable college, but I don 't believe in free college, because every expert that I have talked to says how will you control the costs. I want to make sure middle class kids, not Donald Trump 's kids can afford college.”
On women’s and family issues, she’s pro-choice, supports equal pay, and says she’ll “fight for paid family leave and affordable child care,” (“Women’s Rights and Opportunity”).
It’s safe to say that Hillary Clinton is extremely experienced in dealing with foreign policy issues. Currently, she says the US needs to lead the world because “if the United States does not lead, there is not another leader,” and “we’ve got to do more to support our partners in NATO,” (“Hillary Clinton on Foreign Policy”). She supports letting Puerto Rico restructure its debt, saying “they deserve to be treated as citizens,” (“Hillary Clinton on Latin
Still today it is hard to discuss her in a sentence without popping a chuckle ever now and then. Many have said that Bill Clinton was a good president, but there are those that say he was president only because of the economy during his time. I feel happy, because gas at the time was 0.99 cents per gallon, and this is the only president I know that had such significant standing with the oil prices during that presidential
Think about all seven billion people in the world today and what do we have in common? No matter who the person is, they will make mistakes throughout their life. Yes, even future presidents make them too. Certain candidates are known for repeatedly being caught using logical fallacies. During the Democratic Debate, Hillary Clinton used two kinds of fallacies.
One of the main ideas that Betsy DeVos advocates for is school choice and vouchers. DeVos believes that parents should have complete control over where their children attend school, and because of that, she supports the idea of school choice and vouchers. In the current public schooling system, it costs nearly $11,000 to teach a child each year. Vouchers allow parents to take that money in the form of a scholarship and use it to send their child to a private or religious school. DeVos promotes the use of vouchers as a way for low-income students to attend a school that may have otherwise been outside of his or her reach (Weller).
This is another example of him giving a definite piece of advice to the American people All in all, President Clinton comforted the people of America and provided advice to settle the worried American hearts. He was able to use parallelism and diction to create a sense of security for Americans. He also showed the victims and their families that the American people are supporting them and have their backs. Clinton also used his status as a parent and a husband to create a more emotional connection with his audience making this speech 100%
The strategies she uses made a great impact on people through her speech because she also provides an
Clinton was able to forgive and continue his job to be our country’s leader.
Clintons ideas? The two-state solution inspired by the 1967 borders. This includes the “holy city” of Jerusalem to be split by Israel and a Palestinian state. The improvements of security arrangements, and to end Israeli settlement in Palestinian territories. The reasoning behind Clintons plan is the realization that Palestinians have a higher birth rate, and eventually making up the majority of the territories.
Poverty is a growing issue in our country, and the Catholic Church is calling for us to “help families and children overcome poverty and ensure access to and choice in education.” Hillary Clinton calls for an addition of jobs in infrastructure and manufacturing, which will bring back much needed blue collar jobs that will help families with less education achieve a livable wage. She wants to help eliminate homelessness which has plagued for too many people in America. She also has plans to renovate poor urban areas that are filled with poverty and children in need. Clinton wants to make education more accessible and modernize the education system to accommodate all
Many of the ideas Bill Clinton had accomplished were small, yet somewhat affective. Clinton had also passed welfare reform for providing health coverage for millions of children. This also helped in aiding the poor and
In 1973 Jordan had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. It made her ability to move around hard. She eventually was unable to walk long distances and stairs and had to sit in a wheelchair to get around. Due to her declining health, in 1979, she retired from active politics. She became a professor of law at the University of Texas in Austin and many of her students later became politicians and public officials.
He is doing so much for our country and he is making it a better place. President Clinton has also made education a priority which is good for me since I have two young boys. He created the law Goals 2000. This gave states federal grants to raise academic standards and improve the schools. “Charter school legislation signed by President Clinton encourages states and localities to set up public school choice” (whitehouse.gov, 2013).
Eventually, Clinton saw the violent and tragic effects of the Vietnamese War and decided to switch to the Democratic party for more anti-war views (Harris). That was when she met with more women and spoke with them about women’s rights, sharing their viewpoints and supporting the Women’s Rights Movement (Melick). At Yale University, she met, fell in love with, and married Bill Clinton. Eventually, he was elected President of the United States of America, which made Clinton First Lady. In the most powerful female position in America (and arguably the world), she made it her goal to give women equal
Hillary Rodham Clinton delivered her speech “Women’s Rights are Human Rights” September 5, 1995 while speaking at the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, China with the intent to educate and spread awareness in regards to the rights and treatment of women around the world, while encouraging women to take initiative and highlight the potential women have if presented with the opportunity of equality. Early in Clinton’s speech, she uses the power of ethos to establish her credibility and continues to build upon it throughout, bringing attention to the fact she has had years of experience fighting for change among people of all kinds. Clinton convinces listeners that she has made women’s rights a priority in her life
As a more powerful, older politician, he will have more power with voters as they are more exposed to him. Included with the platform he to make his announcements, he had thousands listening to his message and criticism of the candidates. These flaws pointed out might lead to a change in Clinton and other Democrat’s platform or maybe smaller, a plank. It may become evident in debate, where we could see her expose a softer idea of republicans. An even longer impact is found in how democratic candidates have less competition in regards to the final nomination for party choice comes
In 1992, Mary Fisher spoke to the Republican party about HIV/AIDS. During this time, there was little to no government funding for the research and treatment of HIV/AIDS. People who had the disease were criticized and cast out from society. A veil of hatred was around the disease due to the thought that the virus was punishment to homosexuals, because the community saw the most damage. Mary Fisher aimed to stop these stereotypes and bring educated awareness to the issue.
