A lot of events went down in the period of 1829-1837. When Andrew Jackson came into office he changed a lot of things around and destroyed many old ideas of government. He pushed out the Indians and got rid of the second national bank. In terms of how successful Jackson was, he was very successful in carring out his plans but he did not leave a good mark on the United states of America when he finally left office. During his term as president Jackson stirred up a lot of trouble. He was often looked upon as "King Andrew l" in certain political cartoons. He triggered the development of two parties. The Whigs and the Democrats. These parties were the result of how Jackson handled the presidency. When in office he never conferred with the congress to much he very often ignored them and tried to utilize his power to veto often. Specifically, he used the power to veto the second national bank. Jackson and his followers were majorly opposed to the second national back and the charter was about to expire. The indian lands that were in amongst the states. People started to take some land in the Native territory and the native americans did not like that so they complained to the president. Instead of listening to them Jackson ignored them and people continued to take their land. Andrew then started to get a removal act passed. Despite that the Natives had the right to the land. Andrew seceeded in getting the Natives out of the land. What he did to convince them was a promise of more land. Thought the natives were skeptical they eventually agreed and signed another treaty for the new land. He was a hot-tempered man who was interested in fighting, dueling, and not education as he was hardly educated himself. In reality, Jackson was not a “common man”, but he still pretended to be. At his inauguration, many came to view, and Jackson actually opened up the White House to the people and a party erupted inside. Andrew was also associated with the spoils system during his presidency, which basically claimed those who received jobs in the government had a loyalty to Jackson which made some angry because they felt that was unfair, but others liked the system because they would get jobs for their loyalty. Eventually, tariffs were set into place that angered the south.
Jackson even the supreme court did not approve of him removing the natives of their land, he thought could do anything as president and even overrule the checks and balances. This goes along with Jackson's bad approach to governing and he completely overpowers all of his peers and believes himself to be all-powerful. Next, the Native Americans didn't do anything to be kicked off the land that they were born on and their ancestors are buried, and Jackson completely invalidated their opinions and moved them all in a matter of 4 months, walking 800 miles to their new home. (Document G) This was very cruel for Jackson to do this as they had been there for hundreds or thousands of years and their ancestors were all there on their sacred land.
Andrew Jackson- (1767-1845) The 7th president of the United and the first democrat in office. He was elected by popular vote and served two terms from 1829 to1837. Jackson was the first elected man from Tennessee and was often referred to as a statesman who represented the common man. In 1832, A political movement called the Jacksonian Demonocracy extended voter rights to men without land ownership.

Which means that the Native Americans were protected of their rights of staying on American land, since they were the first to be on the land, and they could only be removed if they agreed or lost by war. However, the US government would trick Native American Tribes to agree to unfair treaties and this would be major mistakes that were being made, because it was still unfair to them, but was constitutional since they were willing to agree to these treaties. Soon after Andrew Jackson, achieved his political goals of expanding into the west. In his First Annual Message to Congress on 1829, Andrew Jackson agreed that “It has long been the policy of Government to introduce among them the arts of civilization” (Document O).
Andrew Jackson was elected to be the 7th president of the United States during 1828. Andrew got rid of the Bank of America and forced the migration of Native Americans, otherwise known as Indians. Andrew Jackson was famous for many things one being his military work, but also creating the Indian Removal Act. President Jackson had a tough life, being left with the death of his family at age 14 he had to mature at an early age. After getting a law degree in 1787 afterwards moved to Nashville and became a wealthy landowner.

Jackson also created the Democratic party in response against John Quincy Adams, a person who made an "corrupt bargain" with Henry Clay, and the spoils system. On July 10, 1832, Andrew Jackson writes another letter about Bank Veto to congress about how citizens are treated because of their class and wealth. “... The present Bank of the United States… enjoys an exclusive privilege of banking,... almost a monopoly of the foreign and domestic exchange…chiefly of the richest class… the rich and the powerful to often bend the acts of government to their selfish purposes…” Jackson believes that the rich and the powerful are capable of “bending” acts of government because of their wealth and power allows them too. So he turns citizens from the lower classes to go up against the government and the bank of the United States.
The Bank War was another event that took place during his Presidency. Jackson believed that the Second Bank of the United States favored the wealthy over the common people.
