Star Wars: the Film that Changed Cinema
In the beginning the Star Wars universe just an idea inside the mind of George Lucas. Little did he know Star Wars: A New Hope would take form as one of the most well known franchises of all time. The first star wars movie Star Wars: a New Hope was the most important movie in film history because of cinematography, fan culture, and storytelling.
First off the use of special effect in movies was brought to new heights from the in-camera lightsaber effects from the explosion of the death star. Star Wars was the first large scale application of computer motion controlled motion photography. This allowed the filmmaker to to composite multiple elements into one, much like CGI that we see in movies today. Also the use of matte paintings was a major development that led to digital paintings and 3D digital worlds. Matte paintings were painted glass panes that is used to show a landscape or large set piece and are either filmed on set, where they are framed to look like a set piece, or they are combined with live footage in post production. Today Green screens are used much like matte paintings, whereas they add digital backgrounds

With films that have grossed around $2 billion dollars at the box office and one of the most dedicated fan bases in all of pop culture, Star Wars is the most powerful film franchise in history because of the possibilities it created. Since the first film hit theaters on May 25, 1977 there has been no turning back; Star Wars is the king of all movie franchises, there is just no way around it. Before Star Wars, sci-fi was seen as a non profitable industry. Star wars showed that more money can be made by selling merchandise then from the actual movie. The thing that made the movie stand out was the world it created, It gave people something to compare
The seven Star Wars films features a fictional universe spanning planets and star clusters far, far away; yet all its filming took place on the very real planet of Earth. The original trilogy presented arguably the vastest array of planetary geography. Episode IV: A New Hope opens with the desert planet of Tatooine. The next film, The Empire Strikes Back, introduces the frigid planet of Hoth.
If you were asked what you thought the most popular Sci-Fi franchise is among all generations of people, which franchise would you choose? For most, the answer would be Star Wars. That is no surprise, because of the overwhelming popularity of the franchise. People appreciate the fact that there are a variety of characters and personalities that are easy to relate to. The director of Star Wars, George Lucas, subtly uses the characters and the advanced technology to get important messages across to the viewers.
Reflection: Star Wars – Hero’s Journey Star Wars, one of the most famous films to this day, was written and directed by George Lucas. But, his life is forever changed when his uncle decides to buy a pair of seemingly normal droids, R2D2 and C3po. Star wars and worldviews have been ingrained to the movies and clone wars series the star wars the universe is based off a Universalist worldview, which is highly adaptable to multiple worldviews. The main foundation of the Jedi is the force, which is, predominates from the eastern religions and their every day practical religious applications. The western religions are shown in the star wars worldview but they are only slightly used through out the movies and series. The star wars worldview allows compromises between different worldviews.
In Star Wars, "the Force" is a name that represents an infinite energy acquired by Force-sensitive individuals (Decker 24). It is generated by all living things that surround and bind the entire galaxy together. The Force allows individuals to perform some supernatural deeds and develop some elements of physical traits, which include reflexes and speed. Moreover, the film series features the Jedi, which the components of the galaxy act as guardians and peacemakers to the Force. The Sith includes elements that represent evil who aim is to destroy the universe.
As we all know, Star Trek has recently achieved enormous success with both Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) achieving mainstream appeal and gained enormous box office success. That’s truly something, but practically nothing compared to what The Force Awakens (2015) did last year both at the box offices and when it came to popular culture. To summarize, when it comes to the money the Star Wars series has made $2.8 billion, with eight episodes/films, while the Star Track crew earned $1.2 billion through 12 films! That’s
Star Wars Episode 4 VS 1 Star Wars is one of the most popular movie franchises ever, and more importantly, one of my favorites. These movies paved he way for future films, and influenced tons of generations of people. Each movie has its own things better than the other, some more than others. Now, I know that the Phantom Menace was the worst prequel, but that's too bad. I'm going off of the first chance that the producers got for the originals, and the prequels.
For this project I chose the original Star Wars Trilogy, I believe there are scenes spread between the three films that are crucial to my argument that the Empire is an embodiment of 19th century conservatism while the Rebellion counteracts them, representing 19th century liberalism. I plan to use Reflections on the Revolution in France, by Edmund Burke, The Odious Ideas of the Philosophes, by Klemens von Metternich, and On Liberty, by John Stuart Mill. I chose this movie because it is a childhood favorite of mine, and analyzing the greater forces at play through the historical context of liberalism and conservatism adds a new dimension onto the conflict that you see at face value. It adds to the power struggle between the two ideologies in

Movie fans around the world rejoiced in May 2005 at the completion of filmmaker George Lucas's epic, six-installment Star Wars saga set "a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away." The new film, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, filled the gap between the segment that introduced Star Wars to the moviegoing universe back in 1977, Episode IV: A New Hope, and the two prequels Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999) and Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002). Revenge of the Sith tied the saga together, revealing how and why Anakin Skywalker, a prodigy of the Force, embraced the Dark Side and became Darth Vader, the infamous embodiment of evil who took on iconic dimensions in popular culture as a result of Episode IV more than a quarter of a century
Hollywood is also the birthplace for movie studios. The industry affected the 1920’s and modern times. The way in which it affected the 1920’s, was that everything about the film industry dramatically grew with the innovations and technologies that were created. It affected modern times by introducing a phenomenal industry that needed to be kept up to date in every aspect. It also affected times by being such a great financial stronghold that everyone in the world knew about.
In the years following the end of World War I, new technologies emerged that would change America forever. These technologies made it possible to improve the lives of Americans across the country. It also brought changes to our society. The most significant change was entertainment in the form of movie pictures. The movie industry became a huge business.
The latest Star Wars movie just came out on December 14, 2017. The movie has brought the Star Wars fandom exhilarated and ready to see what more is to come. With 90% Rotten Tomatoes, the movie has been loved by critics and THEY even want more! Millions of people are waiting to see the next adventure that the creators will make. “The Last Jedi” has left fans stunned by the amazing storyline and plot of the movie.
A great example of a segment of pop culture that you cannot hope to get away from is the Star Wars franchise, especially with the release of the new movie. I cannot remember another event in my life that has been more milked than Star Wars, and it seems that everyone is hoping to suck the teat as dry as possible. To give our fair readers an example of what I am talking about, The Force Awakens alone is set to generate over $5 billion in merchandise sales in its first year and much more to come, and with ridiculous items such as the $28,000 Star Wars themed watch. Needless to say it 's set to dominate the charts for years. There is a near unlimited amount of products that have been plying for your attention using the Star Wars name, such
I believe that there are several qualities to a great film. I believe the original Star Wars trilogy to be amazing films. They have captured the hearts of millions ever since their first release. These movies have always had a soft spot in my heart, as I grew up with them. They have amazing characters, character progression, and plot.
