With this start-up, I’ve had to immerse myself in learning complex systems in a limited amount of time. It’s allowed me to refine the way I approach obstacles, so I can absorb and apply the information to best serve the company. Reflecting on my previous positions, I know that I was the happiest when I was involved in an organization called Break the Barriers.

I would like to obtain a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice so that I can become a Corrections Counselor. I chose the criminal justice field so that I can help those within the system gain the skills necessary to turn their lives around and become successful citizens in the community. This has allowed me to grow as a human being by breaking down walls of self-doubt, fear and insecurity. Emerging oneself into a new culture is not easy, if anything it is challenging, but worth it for the experiences and friendships gained along the way.
