A persons body image is how they see themselves. There bod image can lead to then to very confidant, if they have a good body image and are happy with them selves. A bad body image can destroy a persons ego and make the hate themselves and make the person depressed and have very little confidence, which can also lead to eating disorders and self harm. Culture also has a effect on body image and how Different cultures have different views on the perfect body. Media has made having the perfect body a must but also made that body a impossible standard to meet, Boys strive to grow facial hair and gain muscle mass while girls, want to have large breast and be tall and thin(barbie Doll). so both male and female strive to reach a body they can’t achieve and therefore are not happy with the body they have.(Cobb 2010)(Brand 2013)(Thompson 1990)

Sleep Deprivation is caused when the body doesn't not its get correct amount of sleep, between 8-10 hours a night,as the adolescent grows old factors change in there environment and this causes them to stay up later each night and having to rise early for school or work the next morning the adolescent doesn't gain the required hours of sleep.When we sleep as adolescence the brain has time to “reset” and changes from a highly plastic to a highly connected state making it more efficient and faster.Many adolescents are sleep deprived and those who are, are more likely to smoke drink and abuse substances, when sleep deprived your brain only functions on a base level, memory problem solving skills are impaired also aggressiveness and low motivation and even depression take over.(Bergin & Bergin 2014)(Sigelman & Rider 2012)(Fakier & Wild
The author suggests that people strive to form a new relationship with their bodies (167). Worley describes the new relationship as, “... one that does not involve self-loathing, one that appreciates the miraculous bodies we have, one that brings us joy” (167). She also mentions that one should never say sorry for his body size and people should embrace their body sizes (167). Worley explains how people look at models and pictures in magazines wanting to be skinny just like them. However, society fails to remember the reality of those photos.

Question One: A. When you eat a Hungry Jack’s Ultimate Double Whopper you consume about ⅓ of daily recommended intake in kilojoules and 4/7 of fat. Now imagine adding 4 pieces of chicken nuggets, large french fries, soft drink and a caramel sundae. That’s about a whole day’s worth of energy and nutrients squashed into one meal. In Isaac’s case, an aftermath of eating a horrible days intake in one meal, he is unable to burn enough kilojoules to counter the accumulation of fat and sugar which is stored as energy, waiting to be unlikely be used and build up.
According to Pasch et al. loss of sleep is associated with lower moods, increased irritability, being unable to cope with day to day task, and the increased likelihood for teenagers to participate in alcohol use. With such early start times making it hard for adolescents to even get near the recommended amount of sleep, they are essentially being set up for failure. Their well being decreases significantly due to a factor that is out of their control. Teenagers already have many stressors in their lives and the lack of sleep adds more problems to their life.
In today’s modern culture, almost all forms of popular media play a significant role in bombarding young people, particularly young females, with what happens to be society’s idea of the “ideal body”. This ideal is displayed all throughout different media platforms such as magazine adds, television and social media – the idea of feminine beauty being strictly a flawless thin model. The images the media displays send a distinct message that in order to be beautiful you must look a certain way. This ideal creates and puts pressure on the young female population viewing these images to attempt and be obsessed with obtaining this “ideal body”. These physical appearances create a society that makes other individuals feel like they should have that body too. Having these physical characteristics allows individuals to exist in a community however it can also make someone feel insecure about their body. Butler describes how “[our] body is and is not [ours]” (Butler 117). Meaning that yes it is our body but at the same time, it isn’t because it's controversial to what our body should look like. This relates to the “perfect body” because someone who is overweight is criticized as someone who eats unhealthy and doesn’t exercise.
Lack of sleep increases students chances of depression and suicidal thoughts. It can also potentially weaken the immune system. The school day is hard enough on a child and not getting enough sleep does not make it any better. School
Given these points, the thin and muscular ideal being portrayed through the use of media constantly reminds individuals about how that is a standard that they should meet, leading them to have a negative body image. The idea of body dissatisfaction starts when individuals are very young in today 's society, and is supported by many around the world. Being so accessible to the media allows individuals to become more vulnerable to viewing images of celebrities that will affect them in a negative way and will have them wanting to change their appearance, even if that is not how those celebrities really look. Men and women nowadays are starting to lose self-confidence in themselves and their body shape, which is negatively impacting the definition of how beauty and body shape are portrayed. “...97% of all women who had participated in a recent poll by Glamour magazine were self-deprecating about their body image at least once during their lives”(Lin 102). Studies have shown that women who occupy most of their time worrying about body image tend to have an eating disorder and distress which impairs the quality of life. There was also a 58% increase in suicide attempts. Teens that get around six hours a night are three times more likely to suffer from depression. Another negative impact from poor sleep are long term effects for a young person 's physical health. Bad sleep can lead to obesity and diabetes for teens and high schoolers who already skimp on sleep have a higher risk of diabetes in the future. As an already obese teen, losing sleep can also increase the risk of getting diabetes.

You are sitting in your classroom and the teacher is teaching the class a new lesson. You start to fall asleep and soon you wake up and realize that you have an assignment and have no clue how to do it because you had fell asleep during class. Now you have to go up to the teacher and embarrass yourself by asking the teacher to reteach the lesson to you because you fell asleep in class. Schools should start later and students wouldn’t have this problem. Students that don’t get that much sleep every night affects them when they get older as well as also right now.
For others to understand the idea of body image, they must appreciate the idea of their body image. Everyone has become different, in body style and appearance, for multiple reasons, both society and genetics, but many people are not able to accept the fact. However, there are differences when people want to fix their body image. Positive changes, such as physical activity, dieting, and positive attitudes towards others can help raise society’s interpretation of physical appearance statuses.
“Sleep deprivation is a condition that occurs if you don’t get enough sleep (National Institutes of Health, 2012).” Adolescents need approximately six to ten hours of sleep per night. Not only is the sleep quantity an important factor impacting memory, quality is just as important. Insufficient sleep effects the following; academic performance, behavior, moods, physical and mental health and overall ability to function. There are several factors as to why college students suffer from sleep deprivation.
