A leader is an individual uses interpersonal skills to influence others to accomplish a common goal(DelHousaye & Brewer, 2004). Essentially for one to be a leader, you must be able to inspire others to want to do what needs to be done (Northouse, 2016). Leadership skills are essential in multiple areas of life, but it is especially important when one is trying to achieve change within an organization or in a community. The models that were reviewed and compared were transactional, transformational, authentic, situational, servant, and adaptive leadership. Recognition of the achievements made by others and building relationships with fellow team members is an important part of leadership, as this helps to ensure that the followers are actively involved and engaged in the organizational processes (Northouse, 2016). These important aspects of both the transactional leadership model as well as the personal model of leadership. The personal model of leadership also incorporates several characteristics of the transformational and servant leadership models including empowering and encouraging others, as well as the ability to motivate and guide others to reach a common goal (DelHousaye & Brewer, 2004 & Northouse, 2016). When looking at the authentic leadership model, this personal leadership model incorporates the necessity to be a good person overall through treating others the way you would want to be treated (Northouse, 2016). Authentic leaders as well as those in this personal model are honest and transparent with their followers therefore making them trustworthy (DelHousaye & Brewer, 2004). My robotics team and myself had to work together to create a robot that would complete tasks specified by the First Tech Challenge. We had to work together to decide what we wanted to achieve, and create a design to accomplish those goals. In particular, I worked a lot with the other programmer on our team because we were both new to the process and had to teach each other, as well as ourselves, many aspects of programming. This helps to prove that I am able to work well with others, listening to what they have to say as well as sharing my own thoughts and ideas. I believe that a good leader is able to work with others as well as work alone.

Leadership is the ability to exercise decisiveness, initiative, and charisma under pressure. Decisiveness is vital to leading because many decisions will have to be made on behalf of the group/organization you lead. Initiative is important because many people have something to contribute, but little will get done unless someone steps up and takes charge of the situation. Charisma is also a necessary part of leadership because no one can lead if there is no one to lead. To have followers, a leader must have a great charismatic personality, encouraging others and being a likable person in general.
Leadership can be shown in many different ways, but a good leader is skilled can excel in all leadership roles. Authentic Leadership Authentic leadership refers to a leader that actually possesses the beliefs they embrace. Their authenticity is apparent in their actions and their behavior reflects the ethics and values she encourages like transparency and fairness (Mack, 2018). INTRODUCTION A leader is one of the main component of an organization. There is no organization without a leader. The Total Leadership model resonates with me for how I foresee the integration of all the domains of my life. I want to be remembered as a giving person, a good friend, a great dad and husband, for living an exceptional life, and being happy. In thinking about these aspirations, I realize that my professional life consumes a significant portion of my time and can limit my abilities to focus on these goals.
