INTRODUCTION Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) is one of the most important agents in the prevention of hospital acquired infections or what we termed nosocomial infections. IPC channels every member of the hospital, which includes, healthcare providers (HCP), patients and the hospitals perse. It is important to practice IPC commandment to every hospital as well as community. The Palestinian Ministry of Health (MOH) adopted the national IPC protocol. Employees working in pediatrics hospital are supposed to take precautions to protect their patients and staff from exposure to potentially infectious materials. Specificall, it aims to: 1. Assess each HCP’s knowledge about the national; IPC protocol; 2. Assess the hospital’s action to improve infection control practices; 3. Explore barriers that decrease HCP’s compliance to IPC protocol; 4. Assess each HCP’s perception and attitudes towards the IPC protocol and its recommended practices. Three instruments were used to collect the data: a self-administered questionnaire, an observation checklist for HCP’s practices, and an observation checklist for the three hospitals’ physical environment. The researchers distributed the questionnaire to HCPs and stayed in the hospital to receive the completed questionnaire during the same shift, repeating this process three-four times in different shift each week for ten successful weeks. The researchers completed the observation checklist while waiting to receive completed questionnaires. This allowed the researcher to observe the HCP’s levels of compliance with the IPC protocol. The data were processed and analyzed using SPSS version 18. Frequencies, cross tabulation, Pearson’s, chi-square test, ANOVA were used to analyze the data.
