Have you ever looked at an animal and wondered whether it could think and feel? How it could communicate? If it has a destiny? We may never fully answer all of these questions, but Jane Goodall has made a pretty great attempt.
Born on April 3rd, 1934, Jane Goodall has changed the world. When Jane was little over a year old, her father gave her a lifelike toy chimpanzee to celebrate the newborn chimpanzee in the London Zoo. This might have been the thing that sparked her curiosity about these chimpanzees. Her family thought that the chimpanzee would give her nightmares, but Jane loved the toy. She named it Jubilee, and to this day it is still in her room.

Hero Story or a Tragedy?:
Through it all, Jane Goodall has remained curious and brave, and has been an inspiration to many. She has overcome many challenges, and has encountered success, failure, and difficulties amid her journey. She came from a poor family with little money to sustain herself, but rose from the dust and changed the world. She overcame difficulties such as not being able to go to Gombe Stream alone, not getting a college degree until her thirties, and being an alien to the chimpanzees in the reserve.
Discovering all of these things about the chimpanzees changed Jane and her future. She went from rags to riches. Before she met the chimps, she couldn’t even afford college. Now, she is a famous scientist with a estimated net worth of 175 million dollars. This discovery changed her life and the life of others. She spent her life learning academia in-depth and getting quality education assured from her own mother. During the world war, she displayed bravery by working in military hospitals alongside her mother and taking x-rays. She would follow this by getting her doctorate and by establishing the beginning of nuclear fission. From Alfred Noble’s last will and testament, “…the person who shall have done the most or the best for fraternity between nations, for the abolition of reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses…” Many people have been awarded the noble peace prize such as Nelson Mandela, Albert Einstein, Barack Obama, and Martin Luther King Jr. They have done extraordinary things for mankind, but when one women receives the award for displaying similar actions, people begin to question if she really deserved it. Jane Addams was a women that did things to better the lives of people all around the world, like women and children. She was awarded the noble peace prize on December 10, 1931, after years and years of extensive work around the globe.
Some people that influenced Janelle’s life is her Mom, “she was always so kind and really made me who I am today.” Michael Jackson, “he was what we all listened to in my highschool years.” My friends, “they really shaped my attitude and who I am today.” Her first job was at her dad’s optometry office. “ I worked there over the summer and made ok money for the times I would go out with my friends.”
Jane Long had a rough start of life but a great ending that changed the history of Texas for good. Jane Long was born on July 23, 1798 as the tenth child of her big family. Jane’s father, Capt. William Mackall, fought in the revolutionary war before she was born but died in 1799. In 1811 her mother, Ann Herbert Wilkinson, moved their family to Mississippi but died soon after in 1812 making Jane an orphan at age 14.
Jane Addams life as a child was not easy, she had a congenital spinal defect which led to her never being physically strong and her father who served for sixteen years as a state senator and fought as an officer in the Civil War always showed that his thoughts of women were that they were weak, and especially her with her condition. But besides that she lived a very privileged life since her father had many famous friends like the president Abraham Lincoln. Jane was determined to get a good education which she ended up getting. She went to Rockford sanitary for women which is now called Rockford University and she also studied to be a doctor but had to quit because she was hospitalised too many times. Being sick affected her life very much so when she got older she remedied her spinal defect with surgery.
She changed the lives of those in need in all directions from the Hull House. She changed the world of which she lived in, but more importantly, she changed the world of those around her. Without the strongness, intelligent, and caringness in Jane’s personality,

Addam’s life was dedicated to helping everyone. She was selfless and cared deeply for people's needs. Every human being mattered to her. She was born into privilege, and instead of using that for herself, she used it to benefit others who needed it most. Jane addams entire life centered around making people feel important.
One huge way she changed the world is that she was one of the major supporters of women rights and being able to vote. Eventually, her hard work and support paid off, because women were given the right to vote. Also, Addams was a founding member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, or NAACP. This organization leads to the equality of white and colored people (Library of Congress 1). Jane was one of two founders of the Hull House, A house committed to the equality of the rich class, middle class, and the poor (Biography.com 1).
Jane Evershed is one of those people that has the ability to speak through her artwork. This is a wonderful skill to have, as a picture is worth a thousand words. She speaks most openly to women, those who may or may not have endured the discrimination, oppression, sexual assault, and abuse from loved ones or society itself. Society makes it harder for women to accept themselves as they are. They come in all shapes and sizes, ethnicities and backgrounds, religions and sexualities.
Jane Addams fought against city bosses and challenged the idea of war. She worked hard to create equality for all as stated in the Declaration of Independence. Finally, she helped create new jobs for many people. Jane
Animal rights activist, Jane Goodall, in her persuasive essay, “I Acknowledge Mine” tells about how terrible chimpanzees are treated in a biomedical research laboratory. Goodall’s purpose is to try to encourage change in the laboratory because she thinks that they shouldn’t be tested on just like humans aren’t being tested on. She adopts a somber tone in order to appeal to the audiences’ ethical or moral values regarding animal treatment. Goodall effectively uses all three rhetorical strategies-- ethos, logos, and pathos-- to educate the audience regarding the harsh reality of animal testing around the world and to convince the audience that this cruel testing should be stopped.
"We stand here today united in a belief in beauty, genius, and courage, and that these can transform the world" Jane Addams was an incredible woman who helped make the changes in child labor laws and the rights of workers that occurred during the Progressive Era. She took action to get corporations to raise wages and improve workplace quality for poor Americans, even though she herself was rich. She fought to make America go through an evolution both mentally and physically by making people aware of the struggles of working immigrants and making sure changes happened to keep workers safe as they provided for their families. Amelia Earhart pursued her dream at a young age, and this was something that she did to become peoples hero. She set many records in her short lifetime, and as a woman to set that many records, it created her to become a very inspirational person. Amelia set many different records, but she attempted the greatest of all, flying around the world. No one had ever imagined doing something so immense. Despite the fact that she never got to finish her journey, her legacy will continue to live on.
