“What inspired you to make this movie?”
It’s not a what, it’s a who. That who is my niece Autumn, that little bugger is obsessed with those massive monsters. Always reading about them, learning more and more. So, she’s really the one who brought it up to me, the book, the thought of it being real.

“Now tell us, how exactly did she bring this up to you?”

No, she died. I’m kidding, yes she was okay, she was not released from the hospital until the movie was finished. June 20th, 1975, the release date and Autumn’s birthday, she was excited and in crutches but it all ended up working out and luckily she was okay and this movie was not a box office flop.

“Thankfully, it was and will always be a great movie, but that is all the time we have. Once again thank you Mr. Spielberg.”
Oh, Mr. Spielberg is my father, but thank you so much for having
