“What inspired you to make this movie?”
It’s not a what, it’s a who. That who is my niece Autumn, that little bugger is obsessed with those massive monsters. Always reading about them, learning more and more. So, she’s really the one who brought it up to me, the book, the thought of it being real.
“Now tell us, how exactly did she bring this up to you?”
Her father, my brother Adam, was always on tour and she would always stay with me during her school years (if it were the summer, she would be her father’s original groupie with her mother, Anne) otherwise, with me. This particular time, she was reading the book Jaws by Peter Benchley, she is a little mature for her age and you would realize that, talking to her. I made the best mistake of

I mean, it wasn’t that...yeah, it was difficult. The first shark test went well, Autumn, Dick and i were in a small support boat, the shark came out of the water beautifully, then it went back down like a submarine. The tail came up and then fell down. Then there was nothing but utter silence. We were witnessing the shark sinking to the bottom of the ocean. The next morning we were told it would take three to four weeks to fix it. None of us prepared for that, and i had no other plan B, Autumn suggested why not film the movie without showing the shark, and add more suspense for when we do show Bruce. I thought that was such a great idea, so we did just that. And the movie was not as scary as the behind the scenes.
“Why’s that?”
Autumn took it upon herself to help fix the shark, (without anyone to supervise, might i add). It is electric and in water, that is extremely dangerous, but she ended up messing with it and fixed it, and unfortunately she was electrocuted.
“Oh my, is she alright?”
No, she died. I’m kidding, yes she was okay, she was not released from the hospital until the movie was finished. June 20th, 1975, the release date and Autumn’s birthday, she was excited and in crutches but it all ended up working out and luckily she was okay and this movie was not a box office flop.
“Thankfully, it was and will always be a great movie, but that is all the time we have. Once again thank you Mr. Spielberg.”
Oh, Mr. Spielberg is my father, but thank you so much for having
Through the story the memories and feelings of each girl are uncovered, giving the viewers a glimpse of the ethics, esthetics and eroticism of these teenagers. The movie was heavily promoted as a Thriller in trailers, posters and other media due to its dark and twisted sense of humor, but some critics have claimed to find it somehow misleading, since it also fits in the drama category due to its storyline. The film premiered in theaters in Mexico City on March 4, 2011.
Its effect/purpose was to allow us the viewers to that perspective of the shark at times. Another one that a lot of people enjoyed is the famous dolly shot. When the young boy is taken under and

Halloween of 2003 when the surfer was thirteen everything changed. “While surfing the North Shore of her hometown Kauai, Hawaii, a 14 foot tiger shark severed her left arm just below the shoulder” (Viti). Hamilton remained calm and managed to get closer to shore to receive help. “On the beach, Blanchard used a surfboard leash as a tourniquet, which probably saved her life”(Shark Takes). He wrapped her arm to hold as much of her blood in as possible.
1. The film Casablanca was released during World War II in 1942. Some have argued that some of the themes and plot points of the film can be read as propaganda. Do you agree or disagree? Does Casablanca have a political message?
This essay will examine the functions and effects of cinematography in Steven Spielberg’s Jaws Jaws follows the police chief Brody, along with scientist Hooper and shark hunter Quint, in their attempt to protect the town of Amity against a Great White shark that is terrorising beachgoers. It was adapted from Peter Benchley’s 1974 novel of the same name. Following its release in summer 1975, Jaws became the highest grossing film As Jaws was one of the first motion pictures to be shot partially on water, the production came across issues with the prosthetic shark, and as a result, Spielberg decided to only suggest the appearance of the shark as often as possible, as opposed to showing the prosthetic body during attacks. This sparing use of the prosthetic, and primary focus instead on creating suspense and dread without the shark visibly present, proved to be an inspired decision, as Jaws is considered a pioneering achievement in the horror genre.
It makes the overall work more dark and robust.” Avery said that the variety and doctoring of the sounds made her feel disassociated from her surroundings and engaged in the new occurrences within the video. There is not one specific fear or theme to focus on, but rather a
On The Beach (1959)- On The Beach, staring Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner, Fred Astaire, and Anthony Perkins, is one of director Stanley Kramer 's better (7/10 stars) works of of film. This motion picture is an alarming view of what a post-apocalyptic world would look like. The whole film is from the perspective of those people who avoided the destruction of functioning civilization. In the film Australia, more specifically Melbourne, has apparently "evaded destruction ", as it was spared complete obliteration.
Lion, directed by Garth Davis, is a compelling interpretation of a remarkable true story of Saroo Brierley, lost as a child and reunited with his family 25 years later. Throughout Davis explores the unique circumstances under which Saroo is separated and reconnected with his family and his journey along the way. At some points of the film, I was confronted by how Saroo, a five-year-old boy, expertely navigates, with great instinct and genuine innocence, through an extended, yet life threatening ride. To put it in other words, Lion is a journey that grabs you entirely; whether you want it or not, and you are involved in each and every scene. I instantly fell in love with the connection and relationship between Saroo and his older brother

These ideas were manifested through the use of various film techniques, such as camera shots and movements, music and dialogue.
The shark represents man vs nature throughout the whole story up until the end. From the very beginning of both the film and novel, it starts off looking through the shark’s perspective. The novel’s intro gives some exposition about sharks, including one important definition about anoxia: “Once, if ever, it stopped, it would sink to the bottom of the ocean and die of anoxia” (Benchley 3). This definition not only acts as exposition, but also foreshadows how the shark eventually dies in the end of the novel. After the expository phase of both the movie and novel, the shark attacks its first victim--a drunk woman named Crissy.
The idea of a shark coming up from the underneath and ripping off a limb or two is very terrifying. The use of the teeth is to give the audience the idea that this shark is harmful and will do anything to hurt anyone. Another example of how the designer used fear to drive emotions is by the use of darkness. Many of people are afraid of darkness, and in this poster, this huge shark is emerging out of the dark blue ocean showing that it is evil and mysterious.
