Jesse James was an American outlaw who robbed people and a family man when he wasn't robbing people.
Jesse James was born on September 5, 1847 on a farm in Kearney Missouri. Robert S. James, his father ,who was a Baptist Minister raised Jesse and his brother Frank James along with his other brother Robert R. James and their sister Susan Lavenia James with Robert’s wife and the James brothers mother Zerelda James. his mother Zerelda was married to Robert James from 1841-1850 then married Benjamin Simmis in 1852 but left him because he didn't like Jesse and Frank. Jesse was so upset with the union soldiers that he and his brother Frank joined the confederate guerrilla and he was only 16 at the time. while in the confederate guerrilla the brothers met and rode alongside with William Quantrill and “Bloody Bill” Anderson. Later on Jesse helped with the murder of 25 unarmed union soldiers in August 1863.After the war ended the brothers returned home but didn't think the farm life was for them and their guns seemed better and easier. they joined some ex-soldiers and some common burglars.
